Without fire, for those who don't speak poor spanish. I love consoles. They are fun with HDTVs. I have gamed on consoles since the SNES, and have been PC gaming online since Duke Nukem 3D. I own a 360 and a Wii, and want a PS3 like mad secks. My heart however lies with PC gaming, and it always will I fear.

That being said, I want to spark a productive discussion about the pros of each platform. To share people's likes and reasons for their loyalties. That said, I hope the people that are my friends on here that like to make RUDE (though always warranted) COMMENTS don't ruin this thread and get it shut down. Please no flaming. Please no fanboyisms. and please no calling people fanboys or any other quips. Can haz adulthood now?

Anyway, I'm going to avoid calling one better than the other, because we all have our opinions, but that doesn't mean one is necessarily *better*.

I love the PC gaming environment because I am at all times directly connected to wherever I want to be. I can call up video overlays in my games to chat with friends who aren't playing games at all, and I can minimize the game and access a website if I need to. Consoles are making a step by having operating systems with more features, but people don't just sit on their xboxes and idly chat very often. Most of my friends list is only on while they're gaming, and I when the 360 came out I used to get asked why my xbox was on all of the time. I am a child of the internet and I like to have access to everything at all times. SPOILED.

The best thing about PC gaming by far though is the amount of leeway that one has as far as customizing games. The biggest thing I can't believe hasn't leaked to every console game out there is customizable controls. Some games have presets, which is somewhat acceptable, but hardly any console games actually let you bind the controls to whichever button you want. That option seems like a no-brainer to me, as I have been playing PC games for so long and that has always been an option with first person shooters.

Even more so than customizing controls, I love the fact that I can change practically anything I want about the HUD in a game. Some games have extensively customizable GUIs even, with menu options for turning on/off different features and sometimes even allowing you to create or download an entirely new GUI, holding nothing in common with the original.

I should state that this is more of a traditional thing, as companies like Infinity Ward and Epic have been cutting out options of their games for the PC versions as it makes it easier to fill in after creating the console counterpart. CoD4 actually benefits from being on the consoles' locked platforms when compared to the PC version, because people have to earn their ranks. Infinity Ward did nothing to prevent people from hacking their ranks, and as such there were level 55s within hours of launch. The only "protection" it has is due to lazy programming and their code being unable to recognize mpdata files copied from another account due to system spec differences. But, I digress.

all of that being said, my expensive computer chair is nowhere near as comfortable as the couches in my living room, and sometimes it's VERY nice to know that I can just pop a game in and let it go(barring the rash of bugs shipping lately). Consoles will forever be a part of my gaming life, but due to the (more)open world of the PC, I will forever be tweaking configuration files and cutting out unwanted lines of game loading movies, creating macros to quickly buy my weapons, and writing loops to make my flashlight turn on/off every other clock cycle.

Please, tell me why you are a slouched/hunched gamer. Most importantly, be civil about it.

Borfase, when I saw that you posted in this thread, I knew exactly what you said. Get some new trolls dude, your material is old. :P

Anyway, PC gaming offers some features like you described Lambda. Personally, I usually find it awkward to get new games running and lately I just don't have the time to ess around in config files but yeah I have a lot of respect for PC gaming.
