Anybody looking forward to the new Zombieland movie coming out this weekend? You can check out one of the trailers here. It's hard to go really wrong with a zombie movie, and it's nice to see Woody back to doing what he does best. Metal

In terms of absurd zombie movies, I don't think it'll beat Tokyo Zombie. I saw it the other day and everything about that movie is just ridiculous.

That said, don't really mean to compare to other movies. Zombieland looks fun. Not particularly good, but a lot of fun. I'm checkin it out fo sho

I want to see it for the fun/funny factor, and the cheesiness of it all. I think it looks awesome.

I Heart Zombie movies & Woody Harrelson... and creepy kid Zombies

I saw many previews for this movie, I dig it.

But when I was up in the airport about a week or 2 ago some guy was saying that Zombieland already came out in like Boston or something, I cannot remember which city but it was a North East city.

That child looks very much like a 28 Days Later "zombie". In quotations because some people don't consider them official zombies, I won't get into that here though.

They are actually showing Paranormal Activity at the same time here in Orlando so I opted for that since it's more limited release. Definitely want to see it though.

Thanks for the awesome sig Phin!

People that feel the desire to decide what an official Zombie is are fukkin idiots.

Lets think about this for a second.
You die, All of your organs are removed. Including your eyes.
All of your blood is drained out and you are filled up with Formaldehyde.
How in the hell are you going to crawl out of the ground?

the [REC]/28 days later Zombie method (also the awesome World War Z) A virus similar to Rabies infects the populous and puts them over the edge and turns them into uncontrollable psychotics.

Maybe it is just me, but that sure seems to be a more plausible explanation.

Oh and Zombieland does look stupid funny.

Well first of all, I think one thing we can all agree on is that you need to be dead to be a zombie. Either by magical force or something else, you need to be dead.

28 days later and [REC], are just incredibly angry people who just want to commit nothing but mindless violence. I can dig that.

People get so worked up about it's worse than talking about religion or politics. Until I sit down and write a paper on zombies and George Romero I can't say anything with a definitive stance.

Although, I agree they must totally be dead. I think that's why a few people say the 28 day's later zombies are not "official" zombies as they haven't really died but been transformed by the infection into aggressive and mindless beings even with a small amount of blood contact.

The Romero zombies infect through biting, then effectively dying and becoming zombies with a proclivity to head for the mall. Personally, I just prefer the old school Romero zombies, you can just run around them or hide in the attic.

Thanks for the awesome sig Phin!

Have any of you ever seen a film called "The Serpent and the Rainbow"?
It was a Sam Raimi film based on a true story of a man who was turned into a Zombie.

Zombies being a voodoo thing anyhow it went into how they were made. Good film.

I was just thinking about that movie. I remember watching it when I was little and getting really freaked out.

I would have to say Shaun of the Dead is probably one of my favorite movies in the zombie genre. Deadrising and Left 4 Dead are pretty awesome too Big Grin

i'm definitely looking forward to this movie. Anything zombie related is usually fun to watch, except the re-imagining of night of the living dead by some guy that probably did softcore porn because it was terrible.... terrible.

If you're talking about the Tom Savini version, you're a savage and should just stop right now

I thought the World War Z zombies were literally walking corpses. I mean they freeze into corpsicles every winter and unfreeze in the spring above the snowline. They walk the ocean in huge masses that are monitored like weather systems. The main difference between them and the mock zombies are they are rotting and the mock zombies "maintain over time".
