Yeah, i need some help. ive completed up to the secrt meeting with the iris agents and then won the 2 races in the city for 2 pearls. then i went to get a thrd one in the vorax's lair. i saved with the mdisk reader there and then when i try to get the PA1 and the boosters next to it, or even as son as i open it up, the computer shows a blue screen for like a split second and then it restarts and i have to log onto my account all over again. i already have the 1.01 patch. can anyne help?

To stop the automatic reboot and give you the time to read the blue screen: right click "My Computer" > Properties > go to "Advanced" tab > Click "Settings" button in the "Startup and Recovery" section > Uncheck "Automatically Restart" > click "OK". Now you won't get an automatic reboot. Write down the STOP error message (don't need the details) and post it here. However, your video card is not officially supported so that might be the cause. Try to update the drivers for your Intel 82845G video card (I don't have time to find a direct link for the latest drivers at the moment) and if that doesn't help try to reinstall the game.

Well, ive installed and reinstalled the game a couple of times and i started it up again. Its been working for a while although ive lost my save files =(. Anyway though, a few minutes ago i just suddenly got another blue screen without starting the game at all. The stop message said:

Does the blue screen refer to a specific file that caused the error (ialmrnt5.dll for example)? It seems to be a driver problem, I don't think it's directly related to the game.

well, ima bout to check on that now. ive played all the way to meeting up with iris again and then went to get the neutralizing cannon but for some reason, the objects have no flashing pink letters. theres nothing that says how much the things cost so i couldnt buy it. so i left and went out to the vorax's lair and didnt save there or anything i just went to get the PA1 and the 2 boosts in the little safe and i got another blue screen. but all the text was completely screwed up i couldnt tell what anything said. ill post up what it says in a bit if i find out.

Well, i won 2 pearls from the races and the looters cavern #1 and i went back to the mammago garage and it still wont display how many pearls the neutralizer gun costs so i cant buy it to advance the story. Plus everytime i go into the vorax's lair it messes up this time i finally got what the blue screen says:

It seems that the sound card drivers are causing the BSOD problem but finding new drivers is going to be a problem. First of all try to start the "BG&E settings" program and uncheck any advanced sound settings like EAX. If that doesn't help, from the windows desktop: Start > Run... > type "dxdiag" and enter > go to the sounds tab > use the slider to reduce hardware sound acceleration one step (or more) and see if that helps. If the problem remains, the last option would be to update the sound card drivers but unfortunately there aren't any available on HP's website. However, this thread on their forum may help you:

I tried every step in the dxdiag thing and i took off the EAX because apparently i had it on but it still didnt work. I dont really know what to look for in that link you have me but what i did find didnt work when i tried to install. It said something about "driver not found, reboot computer and try again". Plus i still have that problem in the mammago garage. What i dont understand though is that the Vorax's lair is the only place it screws up in. As soon as i get past the save spot and near the entrance it just screws up with that. I find it strange. Oh well thanks for all the help anyway Daroth

Perhaps we can try to disable sound entirely to get past that section. Right-click your "My Computer" on Windows desktop and select properties. Now click the "Hardware" tab and then "Device Manager". Now you need the found the audio driver. Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" and now find the sound card device. It might be called "Realtek AC'97 Audio" or something starting with "ADI..." or perhaps "SoundMAX Digital Audio", I can't be 100% sure. If you don't know which one you could post a screenshot of the window here. Now right-click the device and select "Disable".Now try to get past the section in BG&E, if it works re-enable the sound afterwards.

Yay! well that worked so im happy now lol. Now though i got a Geforce FX5500 256mb wit the Nvidia drivers n stuff =P. The problem, though, still persists. I can't advance the story because i cant buy the neutralizer cannon so im stuck. I've already mentioned it.

No, I can't find anything...I've done everything i possibly can up until this point including the races and Looters caverns but when i go into mammago garage, there is no writing saying "Neutralizer cannon - 5 pearls" or w/e its supposed to say. Its just blank...im starting to get frustrated since this is such a great game and i cant continue it. Although while i wait i have Warrior Within to keep me busy
