I can't seem to stop the video in BG&E from moving at a snail's pace, out of sync with the sound. I've downloaded and run the full processing application but it has yielded no change...any idea what I should do?

First of all make sure anti-aliasing isn't enabled in your video card settings. Also post your dxdiag here (Start > Run... > type "dxdiag" and enter > "Save all information" > copy/paste the contents of the .txt file here).

I sometimes had this problem too when I played BG&E. Was a bit strange because sometimes happened and sometimes worked fine. A thing sometimes works on problems like this is when you have a ac-97 soundcard (what I see your card is) is entering to the dxdiag thing and changing the sound hardware acceleration from full to basic. I can't ssure you will works since I haven't played the this game in a while and I have lazyness to install again and my hd is full but this had worked for my on severalother games that had sound problems on videos oh and update your sound drivers, are very old from 2002 sound max has a newer ones from 2004

On a side note is abit strange BG&E worked on a intel video chip withot T&L

yeah it does the same for me, got a laptop, wouldnt install, turned off the anti-virus ****, installed and now for the title it races thru, and in gameplay the sound is normal but the graphics are all slow and jerky,

i have the display for the game at 1024 x 768 and a refresh rate at 61 Hz and the main display for the desktop at 1280 x 800

That's your problem. It's common knowledge that Intel GPUs are among the worst in the world.

I've got a Radeon 9800 Pro, which I bought around a year ago. One of the best buys you can make, really. It's two or three generations behind now, but it can still manage modern games maxed out at at least 30fps, for me.

The best thing is that I got it for a measly £80, and you could probably get one for £50 nowadays.

You have to be pretty dumb to spend £500 trying to keep up with the generations, to be honest, because any this-gen card you buy won't be able to max out for three or four years, making it a pointless thing to buy.

Ah.. an Intel chip set... o_o; Not good... not good... If there's anything causing video to lag, it would be that, as I had a set up like yours only with a 2.0 GHz Athlon and a Radeon 9100, and I had no problems at all.

Tone down your settings.

Play it in the lowest resolution possible, turn off Anti-Aliasing, no Anisotropic Filtering, and all of the advanced options such as blurring. You should be able to do all of this from the game options menu, and also by right clicking your graphics card icon in the system tray.

To be honest, if your card can't play BG&E, you really should be looking at a new device to play games with... Run dxdiag and tell us what you've got.

Most likely it'll be some completely obscure little thing with a hundred random letters and perhaps 'Intel' at the beginning of the name, in which case it's very improbable you'll be able to play any decent games released within the last two or three years at an acceptable framerate; if they play at all.

pwne3000, I have the same slow motion problem with my video board(it is a 6800GT from Sparkle) and I don't think that's a lousy video board. The slow motion occurs only when entering the city of hylis, then is just like the system is dying on me and it keeps on going slowly for a few seconds. I have a AMD3200+ processor, epox 8kda3i MB, 2x512 MB A-Data vitesta PC4000 memory modules; isn't that enough for this game? i have 1024/768 and I do not have antisotropic filter running. i don't know what to say next...
