During the game, the characters voices and background music will still either distort heavily or drop out completely after a few minutes, while the sound effects remain. I am using an Audigy 2. All drivers are updated, all virtual drives disabled, and the game is patched.
I have also lowered the screen resolution, and disabled EAX reverb, but the problem still occurs.
I saw a similar topic, but their solution of reducing the speakers to 2.1 instead of surround did not have any effect, and neither did disabling any EAX effects on the EAX panel.

Anyone have any ideas?
