The game works well enough to play, but seems to have two bugs:

1. Dosnt always work with WAVEBIRD controll pad.
(which is a good 50% of the reason to own a gamecube version Big Grin)

2. *all* the pads pluged into the console rubbles when your hit.
Meaning I have to unplug all but #1 to play.

Also, why must i chose the langerage every time it loads up? Dosnt ubisoft know the gamecube has a built in 'default' langerage you can set?
Or, why didnt they place the data on the memory card so you only chose once?

Minor compliants, yes, just wondered if anyone else had them?

Can't help with the Wavebird or controller vibrating problem (but those sound like minor niggles rather than catacylsmic gamestopping bugs at best.... And I've only really found 2 on the Gamecube version. Which is probably 2 too many) but as for the language.... Try playing it with the other language option sometime. I have. It's really quite amusing, especially playing some of my favourite scenes with different VAs speaking in different languages. Smile Then again, maybe I'm just easily amused.

No, playing games in langerages you dont know is great fun Smile

Im just stick of select it each time i load it up.
I like "switch-on-and-play", im easily irrated by small things that make me wait Razz

No, nither bug is important really.
Just stange really.
Particulary the rubble bug, seems an odd oversite.
Surely makeing 4 pads rubble is harder then 1? :-/
I mean, in terms of statements when programing seems odd how that could accidently get into the code.

I have a problem like that with xbox too. I had to switch controller ports once in a while...It was kind of weird, but no big deal. I beat the game.

Aaah, this explains alot. I just got the game yesterday, and my wavebird is new as well, and when I felt the ground rumble during the opening cut scene I was all like 'hmm, I didn't know games could make the room do that!' Also when I started up the gamecube this afternoon the wavebird controller didn't work at first, but the problem was fixed once I turned the 'cube off and on. Thanks for the heads up, I was a bit worried it may have been a problem with the controller. Anything else I should know about for the Gamecube version? Mine is a PAL copy.

Yep, had that problem with my wavebird. Seems to work all the time if you turn the gamecube on first and then the wavebird after. Dunno why, but had me confused for a bit when I first bought the game!!

Class game though, shame about the length.

Yes, there's a bug in the GameCube version that causes odd controller behavior. It doesn't properly recognize which controllers are plugged in. It seems pretty random which controller it decides to use if you have more than one connected when you power up the Cube. Then another annoyance: one time I had 4 controllers plugged in (because I had just played some multi-player Mario Kart) when I started up BG&E. It wound up using controller 2. Instead of bothering to power off, unplug controllers, and power back on, I just decided to go ahead and use controller 2 to play. It worked fine until I played the disc game: the instant the game started, it switched to controller 1! I lost 1000 units because of that, because Francis had won by the time I figured out what was wrong and I was playing for the pearl. :-(

The fact is that I encountered this bug the very first time I turned the game on. It was a bad first impression, to say the least. It simply never occured to UbiSoft to test the game with multiple controllers connected to the GameCube. After all, it's not a multi-player game. But this is a bug that should never have made release. It is very easy to reproduce (just connect multiple controllers and power on), and I suspect it would be easy to fix if you had access to the game code. Oh well. Overall it is a minor annoyance for an exceptional game. Just make sure you only have one controller plugged in when you power on the GameCube, and it will work fine.

Not sure about the WaveBird, as I haven't done much testing with mine because I don't like to use the batteries, but maybe you should make sure to turn it on before the GameCube to make sure the GC detects it when it comes on. Perhaps I'll do some testing with mine and let you know the results.

Intelligent responses welcome, flames will be met with marshmallows.

Hi all Smile

To my knowledge, this is the first time problems with the Wavebird have arisen.

Your best bet is such cases is to contact
Nintendo Customer Services in your country.

The Wavebird has nothing to do with the actual game, it is after all a Nintendo Product.
So perhaps Nintendo can confirm if there is a compatibility issue or not.

This Thread should really be in the Community Technical Help Forum - I'll move it, so you can continue this discussion there.

Kind regards Smile

Just a quick question about the language selection. The box I have says that I can select English as the game language however I can't find the option. At the start I can only choose between French and Dutch and since I can't stand to listen to either I really need to know whether the option is there or whether I should return the game to the store.

I have exactely the same problem.

Bought BG&E today, the belgian version. I can only choose between French en Dutch, although it says that English is optional on the package.

Is there a way to choose English? I can't play it in French or Dutch!
