Hey,
I bought todey my Beyond good and Evil copy for the Playstation 2 Console. I was kind of a dissapointed to see that a game with alot of potential get a low score becuase the Low Frame Per second. I know that Playstation 2 doesnt use the strongest Hardware ever, but its no excuse for the low Frame per second. Now, don't get me wrong, its not THAT bad, but something in the open Hillys world, or in crowded battle, you can see the Frame Per Second decress, which really annoying my eyes. Or is it only my copy/playstation2 ? any other people can say something about it? |

I may be wrong, but I think it's due to the Playstation 2 hardware itself. Out of the 128 bits consoles in the market, it's the least powerful in technical terms, so it may be the reason why you're getting ocasional slowdowns. I've seen the Xbox version run fast enough and with almost no noticeable slowdowns at all.

That's what i'm thinking too.
The Hardware itself is much harder to push compared to the GameCube and the Xbox. I must say i'm disappointed. I can get the need for Ubi to release a 3 Platforms game, but it doesn't give any excuse for the slow frame rate. I pay the same price as the Xbox and the Gamecube, but it just that my Playstation 2 cant run it smooth enough :/ |

Well, if its any consolation, my PC can run the game pretty smoothly, but ocasionally there are some slowdowns as well

In other words the engine doesn't work well in all the platform?
Well, I really don't want to judge, it's a really great game, the only problem is the Frame Per second. I aware of programmer time-limit before release .. so.. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Tall-Guy, |

Well there is a huge difference.

Yeah, the PS2 version did slow down a little at times, but it wasnt enough to keep me from the game!
My PC actually OVERrenders the game, so I have to crank manual settings WAY up just to make the game run normally! The game, during cutscenes, will render the images faster than the audio, throwing the words off by a ton at the end of the scene. I counterbalance this by setting my ATI settings to a manual of 6X anti aliasing and likewise 16X anistropic settings, this actually taxes my PC enough to smooth out the sequences. ***************************** Through Jesus Christ, he has made me FIREPROOF My website, It's Rigged!
