Beyond Good & Evil is a game worth getting working on the PC. I installed and fired up BG&E for the first time tonight, about three hours ago. The intro was fantastic, Jade's house was enchanting, and the music was amazing!
Eagerly, I set out on my first mission. I got into my hovercraft and onto the water, and... what the hell!? Yes, I have a Nvidia 6600GT graphics card, and yes, my system hit about 2fps when I got onto the water. My first instinct was to turn down the water effects. I had them set at high, so I turned them down to medium. It still lagged to the point of being unplayable. I turned them down to low and... yes, yes I was hovering now, over a completely unrendered grey sea. In other words, it ran, but it looked like ****. Fortunately, after a few clicks through these forums and reading posts from the likes of the helpful Daroth and others, I had things running smooth and pretty again. THANK YOU! p.s. I had the latest Nvidia drivers installed; what I needed were the 66.93 drivers: the first drivers to provide support for the 6600GT. Yeah, it's an irritating thing to have to do, but I'll uninstall them when I beat the game. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html |

Good to see you got the game running again. The more people that get to play the game, the more chances we have at getting a sequel
