I seem to be having some MAJOR problems or something...

My DELL Inspiron 9400 laptop specs->
-Intel centrino duo Processor T2400(1.83GHz, 2MB Cache, 667MHz FSB)
-Windows XP Home Edition
-2GB Dual Channel 667MHz DDR2 memory
-17 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen UXGA with TrueLife
-256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go7900 GS

SO, thats my laptop...and my problem is->

When I first played, I set all the graphics and stuff to highest, AA to highest etc. and resolution to 1920x1200, and when I first played, everything was fine, but I didn't notice the shadows...but at the time was unaware where the shadows should be... so after the first intro scene, and the mini boss battle, when you pass out, the game shut down, and an error came up saying something like "Not enough memory available, please lower your resolution, and try again"...so I was like wtf, and just exited the game, changed the resolution to 1280x1024, and tried again...so this time it runs smoothly, and gets past that pass out scene, and again, still no shadows... but THEN when I got onto the water, I experienced allot of lag...I ignored it, untill finnaly I got to land again, then I even experienced a small slowdown on land, and was like "that's it...I give up".

So the next day I run the game again, but I re-put the game to the top resolution, and changed my graphics card settings to perform highest quality...so I enter the game, and this time it looks allot prettier..has shadows...BUT LAGS LIKE A MOFO. I then set the resolution to 1024x768, and still...lag. So, as of now, I give up, I am in severe hope that someone might have a solution...becuase I hear this game is really good.

My laptop can run ES4:OBLIVION on really high settings, so this should be like nothing, although it does have high graphics card memory requirements (256 mb for windows xp.

To My Recollection - If your card is not listed in this list it isn't supported.

You can try these steps

Installing Video Drivers

If you experience any graphical problems, please install the latest video drivers available for your video card.

Antialiasing:
If your video card allows you to select antialiasing, PLEASE DISABLE IT, otherwise problems may arise (e.g. the game runs, but the graphics are corrupted).

Advanced Settings (for expert users)

Water Detail: set this parameter to Low if the frame rate is not acceptable while driving the hovercraft
Blur: set this parameter to 10 if you want to smooth the image
Flare: disable the flare effect in order to increase the frame rate
Shadow Quality: set this parameter to low in order to reduce video memory usage

WARNING : Don't modify "Advanced Settings" if the game runs properly.

-Triple-Buffer: Disable this option to reduce video memory usage.
-SSE: Disable this option if your computer doesn't support SSE instructions.
-HW Vertex Processing: Disable this option if your graphic card doesn't support T&L in hardware.
-Multi vertex stream: Disable this option in case of corrupted graphics.
-Mipmapping: Disable this option to reduce video memory usage.
-W Buffer: Enable this option in case of graphics flickering.
-FastFlip: Disable this option in case of graphics flickering.
-Autogenmipmap: Disable this option in case of corrupted graphics.

Try playing with those.
