Hey, So I found BG&E the other day while I was sorting out all my dvd's & games and came accross the PC version, So i'm in the slaughterhouse, and I have to sneak past 4 soldier thingys through this mist/smoke/fog stuff (you gotta crouch while doing it)

but.. This mist/smoke/fog stuff really kills my FPS down to 2FPS and that isn't good.

Generally I've got 40-50FPS through out the game so this is really weird and annoying.. so I was wondering if anyone knows how to change the graphic settings so only the mist is low quality? I looked at the video settings GUI but nothing for smoke particles so i'm stumped.

It's the first time I've heard of this particular problem. Did you try randomly changing the advanced video settings?

I've had the same problem since I upgraded my graphics card (worked well before). The simple reason is BGE's hardware/drivers support is really, really bad. BGE in itself is the greatest game ever, but it's designed as a console game. The PC-port is technically downright bad. Don't expect it to run well on any other hardware newer than the game itself. Other symptoms of this is numerous sync-issues and framerate dropping to unplayable when on water.

One solution would be to use older drivers.
