Ok, the main problem with this game is that it was designed with console systems in mind. That's fine except for the fact that BGE's timing is related to the clock rate of your computer. Because of this, if you clock rate ever changes, the speed of the game's video changes and not the audio. This makes them out of sync.
This problem is very noticeable on laptops that run processors that are able to run variable clock rates, like the mobile Athlon, mobile Pentium 4, Pentium M, and quite a few others. To fix the issue related to processor speed, you need to run a program that will force the processor to run full speed before starting the game and keep the processor at the same speed while the game is running. I make a little program to do this. The program runs the processor at 100% for 3 seconds, then launches the game. While the game is running, the program will run a very low priority thread in the background to make sure the processor stays at 100% while the game is running. I use this on my Pentium M laptop and it works very well. I don't know if 3 seconds is long enough to get all the processors to throttle up though. Let me know if doesn't work for you. ===== Audio/Video Sync Fix ===== Windows verson: http://www.hex2bit.com/test/Full Processing.exe Java version (for those who like Java): http://www.hex2bit.com/test/Full Processing.jar This should take care of your audio/video sync problems. This may also help some desktops that have the problem, who knows??? The other big issue is video drivers. Both ATI and nVidia have problems with this game. Those with ATI mobile chips aren't supported by the latest Catalyst drivers, and those with nVidia cards, both desktop and mobile, come across video problems. The best drivers I have found are by a single person, and they are called Omega. This person makes drivers for both ATI and nVidia cards, and his drivers support mobile chipsets as well. This allows all the people with mobile chipsets like me to have the latest and greatest drivers too. The emphasis of the Omega drivers are Quality, not performance. So don't expect them to run the absolute fastest. He does however make tweaks to the drivers to fix problems that ATI or nVidia may have caused with certian settings. This often fixes many problems with games. So give them a try and see if they fix your video problems. ===== (ATI/nVidia) Omega Drivers ===== http://www.omegacorner.com Hope this information helps most people's problems! Michael Walters |

Most people would notice the links don't work. The forum cut the URL off at the space. You need to copy the etire link, including the work Processing.whatever.
Here are the links again: # Java version (Requires Java Runtime Environment): http://www.hex2bit.com/test/Full%20Processing.jar (1 KB) # Windows version (Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP, whatever): http://www.hex2bit.com/test/Full%20Processing.exe (63 KB) |

Hey everyone,
just recently got bge.. had problems with audio/video sync. Used the fix on the forum, which made it much better but not 100% in sync. You think anyone can help? thanks |

Thank you very much!!!
I already tried the game out over a year ago and had to return it to the vendor because of this problem. When I came by accident to this solution I thought about giving it another try - especially since it is very cheap nowadays. And it works great! Thanks again. |
