so i have a problem with BG&E game installs , but then it`s "laggy"

my pc is like that:
athlon 2400+
256 ddr 400mhz
geforce 2 gts vid

so i read some FAQs and so and i found sth like that



Many users of NVIDIA video cards have a serious problem of video lag. During the cutscenes the sound files play normally, but the video can be as much as 15 seconds behind. Very annoying to say the least.
Gameplay is slow and Jade appears to be running in slow motion.
During the races and the looter's cavern missions, this causes a control lag which makes it difficult to complete these missions.


Solution to the problem:
Download this file. Use at your own risk.

backup your original BGA.exe
Extract the file into the game directory.
Open SettingApplication.exe in your game directory.
In Graphics Settings set video resolution to minimal (512x384)
In Advanced Settings put all the sliders to the left.
On the same screen check the manual compatibility settings box and click on the autodetect button.
On my system (NVIDIA GeForce2MX/MX400) it works best with only SSE and HW Vertex processing checked. You may have to experiment to see how much you can check, or which sliders you can activate without getting a slow-down.
Play the game as normal.

Bear in mind the the geforce gts is very old, so you can expect to get some problems from it - did you update the drivers at www.nvidia.com ?

I REALLY doubt that! Do you think it could be something i can adjust in the video options? There are a bunch of settings in the manual video settings. So instead of clicking auto-detect.

Also, maybe it I have flaky memory, that could certainly cause crashes right? I wish there was an error at least.

i changed everything and that`s weird .

i play 512x 3XX and it`s unplayable still , wow this game has so many bugs ;o

Hi Guys - I had *EXACTLY* the same problem as you describe and I have Windows XP and Nvidia.

I managed to fix it using Speedswitch XP as described in another thread.

Basically, BGE seems to 'sample' the speed of your PC when it starts, and if its not running at its fastest rate constantly when you start it (unlikely) then it gets it somewhat wrong.

Speedswitch XP forces the CPU to run at a smooth and constant rate which has fixed all my BGE problems.

I know this is not a supported app and has caused other problems but it works for me so have a go at your own risk.

BGE is worth it at the end of the day....

But still I reccomend that you update yore video card.

A rodeon 9000 or above is good, if you like ATI.

If you like nVidia buy Geforce FX or Titanium ONLY, I REAPEAT ONLY (the MX or GO are a big bunch of ****, and basicly there are Geforce 2's)
