OK...I FINALLY get this stupid game to run smoothly and my specs WELL exceed what's called for. I play every game on the planet without a hitch EXCEPT BGAE.

Now I get into the Central Hall and fight the stupid 3 robots God Knows How many times trying to figure out how to get the second freaking key only to find out in this forum that it's ANOTHER bug! Are you kidding me? There are NON UBI soft guys making game saves and patches so that we can play this thing?

Does this sound rediculous to anyone else but me? What on earth is Ubi doing? Where's ANOTHER patch to get this game playable? Most of the times development teams create patches to IMPROVE gameplay, not to make the damn thing simply PLAYEABLE.

It's too bad I actaully enjoy the game or this would be a no-brainer....I'd just say oh well and uninstall it. But it's fun...I only ask that a title be TESTED before it's freakin released. NO WAY none of the testers at UBI tested this thing out and didn't run into the no key-drop thing. Mine was crashing to desktop for absolutely no reason in that area as well. One of the exe's i got through here fixed that problem....

The guy at my local EB Games said he has had nearly all of the PC BGAE titles returned because of unplayability. I'm about to do the same. I knew this would be a headache game because it took me 4 tries to even get the dang thing to install.

I have a K7N2 mobo, XP2500, 512mb Ram, FX5950u, WD 80GB SE, etc....I play Call of Duty, MOHAA and all expansions, Farcry (luckily...another Ubi title...)Halo, BF42, BF Vietnam, DF Black Hawk Down, Jedi Knight Academy, Painkiller, Ravenshield, etc ALL with the settings jacked up with never a hiccup! So I know it's not my rig.

Well, enough venting....sorry to complain but again, this just ticks me off. I wish I had known it was such a crappy build for the PC..I would've bought it for my PS2 instead.

Am I the only one here who sees things this way about this game?

You're not the first one to be annoyed - half the forum users have encountered some bugs on the PC Version - including myself.

But we did discover that the Official Patch is more than likely to cause the bugs - most notably the 'Dreaded Triangle Key Bug'.

Ubi doesn't intend to release a new patch, because there are user fixes available which can assist in fixing the various bugs within the game.

I think the game is good enough to look beyond the bugs and use the available solutions to just get passed it. As mentioned, there are save games and user made patches/editors which can help. The BGE savegame editor seems to work fine if you have the VB (visual basic) 5 and 6 runtimes installed (all as standard with XP). Just don't edit any properties of your savegame, just run it, select "central hall" save slot, and then use the "reset central hall bug" button. Save/apply the changes and then go back to BGE. When you load up the game, you'll hear a robot/drone sound effect, go back into the main room with the 3 chutes, kill the robots and then leave as you would have intended to. The triangle key is sometimes tempermental, you may need to use the savegame editor to +1 triangle key to your inventory. So far, I haven't had any problems with the un-patched version... so my suggesion is don't use the official patch unless you prefer to ogle over sweet anti-aliased graphics and slightly tweeked water and sky Wink

If you still haven't reached a reasonable level of satisfaction with the PC version, I would urge you to consider trading it in on the PS2 version, if possible. I have not encountered any bugs after playing it through a half-dozen times, at least. The PS2 controller interface is excellent, and it plays very smoothly. Otherwise, you will be missing out on a very enjoyable gaming experience.

I, for one, appreciate your frankness and candor, and find the lack of follow-up on Ubisoft's part deplorable. The game certainly deserves better, regardless of whatever unexplained circumstances may exist.

At the same time, I applaud the user community, especially rahly and bitebug, for their incredible, selfless efforts in rallying to take up the slack.

An idiot maid the officel patch.

You can't blame hole Ubi for that.

The game could be better at stability thou.

But its ubi's bad that they tryed to release the game earlier then needed. Poor Micheal Angel (If I didn't wright his name properly, sorry) his exelent game whent down the drain.

Thats why theye had these bug, becuse theye hadn't had anof time to repair bugs. But theye could be much more bugs, and remember that.
