Sounds to me like your geForce is the problem. If you insist on running the game, make sure...
- turn off antialiasing in nvidia control panel - turn off anisotropic filtering in control panel
these will cause screen corruption.
Also, you might want to make backups of your savegames, and then try applying the 1.1 patch, it has some general optimisations and speedups that might help.
It'll also be an idea for you to try running the game with BARE minimum visual effects, so in the BG&E settings application, turn everything down and try again. Also try running the game at 640x480. If it runs fine, then you can always try increasing one setting at a time until you start crashing... then you know what's the problem.
