Some friends said they saw something on the other night during Dogfights of the Future on the History Channel, where they talked to Clancy and talked about HAWX some. I missed it and can't find anything about it on the internet.
Is there a clip of this that Ubi can share with us here? |

I watched the 2 hour show, and Tom Clancy was there offering info on the F-22 in first part of the show..
There was no mention of HAWX that saw. Unless you count the Rafale getting shot down by the Raptor..  Faith Based Risk. |

Yeah, I saw that the other night. I don't think he mentioned HAWX at all. Just some commentary on aircraft. Mind you, I wasn't paying complete attention to the show.
Anyone know how "Rafale" is pronounced? I always thought it was 'rah-fall' or 'rah-faal' but the narrator kept saying it 'rah-fail.' I'm pretty sure that's incorrect and it was bugging the heck out of me, because he said Rafale about every twenty seconds. Anytime, Baby! |

Finally saw the show on a repeat the other night. VERY good, highly entertaining, a lot of info.
Nothing on the game, but very much worth watching. I've heard 2 pronounciations for the Rafale on the Dogfight shows. Most call it the "rah-fail" like Tomcatter said. The narrator actually called it something much like Raphael (the person's name) which I thought a little odd. I'll take the pilot's word for it and use the rah-fail pronounciation.  |

Alot of it also has to do with where you are from. I say it like the ninja turtle, or artist in which Rafael was named. Down here in Texas, we don't care too much about pronounciations, we just say it how we see it.

I am French, i don't pronounce it "Raphael". Maybe there's a misunderstanding with the "le" syllab. "le" != "ael" Let's split the word. Ra-fa-le "Ra" like in Rap. "Fa" like the Fa in solfege. "Le" the e is not pronounced, the l is prononced like the end of the word Hall. |

Ok, that's basically the pronunciation I thought was correct. Perhaps my examples didn't translate quite the way I intended from my ear to the keyboard. The second example I used, to me, sounds like what you're saying. Thanks. Anytime, Baby! |
