Check this out guys. A video from Georgian spy UAV that was spying on it's former regions of Abkhazia and South Osetia (Guess who gave those UAV to Gerogians!) and MiG-29 comes in and shoots down the *******. Very beautiful. Fighter came just like in the movies, makes cool move and fires a missile. Explotion scene is priceless!
I actualy think the video is fake. Why? Because tell me why would a mig come so close to the UA to blow it up? It could blow it from hundred kilometres. And that maneuvre made by mig infornt of the camera looks like from a movie...must be fake...but looks cool

That was my first good laugh of the day, thanks SkyRaptor...
any news on the official Russian response?
RuAF claim that there were no fighter flights that day in that region. Abkhazia is the one saying it shot down a UAV. Either by L-49 Albotros or by AA. THis stoyry will go on.

Because a small UAV (HERMES is a whopping 6 meters long) is going to present a small radar and IR signature. The MiG-29 would have had to close on it to get the FCS to acquire it for missile launch. HERMES is prop powered and being a relatively tiny UAV by current standards, the MiG-29 would have had to get pretty close to get an IR AAM shot off. The GSh-301 cannon was probably a bad idea due to the small size of the target and the fact that getting close enough to hit it may have put the MiG-29 in a position to be damaged by debris. An IR AAM lets the pilot kill it from a bit farther off and stay away from the resultant debris cloud. Either way the old N019 radar set in the MiG-29 wasn't going to find a target that small from a hundred kilometers away. And since the MiG-29 only carries the short-burn R-27R1 with a range of 80 kilometers, it wasn't hitting anything from a hundred kilometers anyway. Now, if they had put some Su-27s in the area, they have the long-burn 120 km R-27ER1, but the same radar acquisition problems apply due to the small size of the target. And that doesn't even begin to deal with velocity gate issues and doppler notch filter problems when dealing with a target that has a maximum speed of only 95 KTAS. Take all of that into account and you end up having to get real close and use an IR AAM to kill it.
Also, the camera was obviously pointed at the MiG. Georgian radar probably tracked the FULCRUM, alerted the UAV crew, and they slewed the camera to track the jet, capturing the missile shot on film.
geimint.blogspot.com Peace through kinetic solutions.
It's a fake video. Russian fighter pilot always try to attack from above. IT's their tactics. In here MiG is attacking from below a slow-flying bucket of bolts FAKE video Abkhazians shot it down actually with L-39. BTW - just look at the altitude and distance from land. How could UAV debris fall on furface?

nope..that's the whole point. they were found on the surface..near some Abkhazian village And president is a rear liar. He said that that video shows how Russian MiG-29 shoots down a UAV and sends missiles to Georgian city and bombing it's territory...Nice try *ss-licker

sure this video is fake, but this does not make fcuken Saakashvili a liar at least not more than KGB **** Putin, also neither Russia nor Abkhazia had the rights to shot down UAV cuz' until international community recognizes Abkhazia as a sovereign state, it's basically part of Georgia, how would Russians like if their clunkers were shot down by Chechnya. And it's highly unlikely Abkhazians could have gotten a hold of K-13 AAMs to shot the UAV down.
