Same. As soon as I heard about the exploits involved in "ranking up" the leaderboards, I was turned off. Besides, I hate its randomness. I mainly played with friends or occasionally against them. Much more fun that way.

I judged the ability of another player in our games, not by rank but by performance. I was under the impression "top player" indicated merit....

It's also a shame I haven't played the game in months. haha

Ive put it in a few times but havent played it seriously at all in a couple months.
Been playing Fallout and some other games.
The worst part is that last time I checked I hadnt dropped below 300 on the leaderboard, despite not playing in a month or so.

Well, Endwar got a suprising sequel, so maybe Hawx will too, and if so, I really hope they make sure this one is ready before shipping it out,

If I ever get motivated to turn the game on again. I'm serious when I say the game doesn't hold much appeal for me at this point. If I'm going to jet it out, I much prefer AC04/Zero or Aero Elite.

If my friends are playing it, maybe I'll send you a message sometime. Friends are about the only thing that could get me playing a round of HAWX at all. What's your account? It looks like your signature is a callsign or two, but I don't know.

I can tell how skilled someone is by how well they put their jet where they want it, and face it the right way.

Most pilots cannot hit me because by the time they find me, my missiles are in their face.

I take pride in my flying because I have learned that I naturally put that red, incoming-missile arrow exaclty where it needs to be on my screen to dodge the missile. Consistently getting 6x or 7x streaks isn't difficult when you get sick at dodging missiles.


Smoke is my callsign, and Ldogg is my psn name. (it was originally both my brother and I's PS3, and both of our names begin with L, so Ldogg was okay.) I fly at night mostly, here in sunny Florida, so that's night EST.

Well, as for the "bragging" bit, I don't really. I have videos of me winning in just about every jet in the game. I stopped after a while, as it required still playing a game I lost the desire to. However, you're welcome to check them out. Some are better than others, but a 2:1 ratio is my minimum, 4-5:1 became a norm towards the end.

And no, I didn't use AAs. I think they're cheap, and I loved winning matches without resorting to any. But, I guess that'd be me whining, isn't it? heh Seriously, though, they were a nuisance that nearly everyone in every game I played relied heavily on. It's another reason I stopped playing. It became monotonous. "Oh, look. Another guy spamming AAs every chance he gets. Oh, look. He's dead. Oh, look. He has a negative kills to deaths ratio and didn't even make the top 3."
