Yeah, just ignore the leaderboards, they're pointless. All the good players I've ever encountered ignore them and play custom matches instead so they can play with friends. A better question would be who are the best players you've played with/against.
The guys on top of the X360 leaderboards are legitimately great players. No doubt the score is bogus, theyre my friends and really good players, so I wouldn't recommend challengin them unless you wanna get yours handed to you. All this assuming of course that the top hasn't changed.
I played with/against a couple of them and didn't see anything out of a normal player deviation of talent. They really need to adopt a legitimate ranking system if they produce a second title. The best players I've played against have mastered rockets, once you get to that point you can beat 99% of the players out there (at least a 2-3:1 kill ratio).
