Has anyone ever noticed that you get no experience for actually completing missions, after doing them for the first time on each difficulty setting?
Your wingmen mention their pay checks a few times in the game, and performance bonuses. But if you think about it, if we take the role of Capt Crenshaw when we play, we aren't getting pay checks at all, ONLY performance bonuses. Level 40 in single player only...let's hope 2012 isn't the end of the planet for your sake. Smoke, Ldogg |

Doesn't the PS3 have wireless internet built in?
There is online co-op, which is basically the same missions, except there are other pilots racing to beat you to the targets. The main online function is team death match, up to 4 vs 4, in a shoot down, respawn, continue, theme. Smoke, Ldogg |

Sadly, there's nothing else you can do. Ubisoft forgot (or ignored) offline players. Personally, I don't think it is even worth trying to reach level 40 in single player.
As for the wireless, I don't own a PS3, I can't help much on that matter. You can always try to get a PC copy of the game and use the complete profile to have access to all planes... -- H.A.W.X. - Plane Finder (Ubisoft's mirror) Find a plane with the features and weapon packs you want. |

The more that I think about it, the more that I'm bothered by the fact that Ubi has been the first/only company to be daring enough to challenge the AC series.
I'm fairly certain that everyone agrees, maybe even MC, that 'AC' was synonymous with 'modern flight action' before Hawx existed. I still have a little respect for Ubi, thats why I will generally call it AC# or the AC series. Why hasn't any other video game company even tried? Too scared of the expectations that have already been set? The market is there, and the formula is already in place. Copy AC as closely as you want, I'll like the fact that I'm still used to your game even though I'm just starting to play it. Just make the games, companies, and we will buy them. Hawx: 1-3+ million sold is what I hear, hehe. Imagine how many copies could have been sold, and **would still be selling**, if the game saw positive feedback instead of general negativity. My PS3 is a 60 gig original, I'm almost certain it has wifi built in, but I don't think the newer ones do. Smoke, Ldogg |

No, you did *not* finish HAWX in 2 hours. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "It's amazing how much panic one honest man can spread among a multitude of hypocrites." -- Thomas Sowell |

Dang, guess I gots lot to say bout this....
Stgstrm, er whater, I'd say give Hawx a little more time. More than enough of us have spent time here feeling betrayed by ubi, but the game isn't without some good features. There is a thread that you can search for in here somewhere started by an awesome pilot who listed some of his favorite parts of the game. Maybe check that out to see if anything brightens your views. OT: I've never played AC2 or3. AC1 doesn't support the dual shock, can anyone let me know if you can fly with the sticks in AC2 or AC3? Maybe worth some Ebay time? Smoke, Ldogg |

AC2 doesn't support analog control, either. It's cool for a more primitive, less classy presentation complete with butt-rock soundtrack, but it's fun. AC3 is kind of more similar to the story format, but it's weird and quirky with its futuristic setting. At least it does support analog. I own and like both. It depends on if you can tolerate the old school-ness (and extra cheese).
I had to eBay AC3. AC2 and I go way back. _______________________________ http://www.myspace.com/nonesonon http://www.youtube.com/adnihilis - HAWX videos. PSN: Adnihilis-II HAWX Callsign: Black |

Just an FYI, I've been using a PS3 and playing online with wireless config since last November. If you are using a wireless router you might want to config it to look for PS3. Also go into the "settings" page of PS3 and scroll down to "network settings" and then go to "Internet connection settings" to set PS3 up for using wireless. Worked for me. Hope this helps. USIKE |

I'm not sure if different PS3 models have differing wifi receivers or not. Mine, like Landon's, is a 60 gig with the receiver, so I use that to play online. Co-op is identical to single player, except instead of wingmen, you can have up to 3 others playing the mission with you. There's not any difference xp-wise to playing co-op or single player, not really. I mean, if you do missions like Glass Hammer that don't have a timer and can't be failed, basically you can keep shooting down the respawning F-20s. If you run out of ammo, crash. Since others are in the game with you, you won't fail the mission. Still, it won't really help as the xp is very, very low. The reason we say to do TDM is because you get far more xp from shooting down opponents, particularly when you get streaks going. I got to level 40 this way, and it still took a long time, BUT it would have taken much, much, much longer just doing it in single player. I don't think anyone's done it that way because of how tedious repeating the same mission over and over that many times is tolerable. TDM is by far your best and practically only bet to hit rank 40. _______________________________ http://www.myspace.com/nonesonon http://www.youtube.com/adnihilis - HAWX videos. Adnihilis thanks for your help but my wireless doesnt see the ps3 but again thanks tried your idea.
To some others , To compare this game as a challange to the ace combat series is an insult to ac series if they are going to challange the ac series then they need to come up with something better. The assitance off is so weak that it shouldnt even be in the game and the ers if you need that to attack then you in my opion are a weak gamer in flying games. The only time I used it was when the game made you use it and you had no choice. The game however has one thing over ac and thats the graphics. And sorry if this is offensive but I hope ubi reads this forums Maybe then ubi will wake up and actually develope a game that will challange the ac series. Ac series has faults also the story plot is weak and you cant skip alot of it, and flying through tunnelfor a games and caves is truely stupid. But the game play is so much better and being able to get all the planes on your own is better. And for a game the only thing better than this game is the flight simulator at Carswell Air Force Base in Ft. Worth Tx. To finish up I thank most of you for your advice and help and to the other sorry if this complaint about the game is something you heard before but since I live in a very small town the Hawx game only showed up on shelves 2 weeks ago. Oh and to the one who said I couldnt finish 19 missions in just under 2 hours well you can if you can fly and understand a few things and not waste time. |

the ac series is the game i was refering to the the flight simulator at Carswell is better than not Hawx. Because reading it sounds like hawx is the game and Hawx is no where near a Flight game

Funny enough, you have the same criticisms of the AC series that I do, but, like me, also think that it's a series with far more quality than this game. Considering the wealth of posts on this forum since release day have had more criticism than praise, I can say you are most certainly not alone in feeling as you do about HAWX.
It's too bad. There are so few other PS3 modern flight games: zero. This is it. Funny that I'd much prefer playing PS2 games than HAWX. It's too bad you can't get your console recognized by your wireless. The only partial saving grace this game has is its multi-player, but then you'd experience a host of other bugs that happen way too often. It's about the only fun thing in the game (to me, anyway), and that's probably more to do with the fact that I like winning (heh) than the actual gameplay in TDM (which is the ONLY adversarial mode included). If you're stuck with the single player campaign, you're right. There's absolutely no challenge. "Elite" difficulty? Uh, no. _______________________________ http://www.myspace.com/nonesonon http://www.youtube.com/adnihilis - HAWX videos. PSN: Adnihilis-II HAWX Callsign: Black |
