...again. Tired of turning in a circle and getting spammed with AA. Seriously, ruins the game for me. It has the same logic as putting a gun in an FPS that can shoot anyone in any direction within 100 feet.
Anyway. Me vs. you? Me vs. you vs. others? Don't care. Realistic weapons, JSM only. Reply here or email unknown_target01 at yahoo.com. PC only please |

Hey, it happens in any game, your gonna find those who will do anything to win against someone, including using all-aspect missiles...
Just keep working at it, and you'll get better. Thats what I do with my other games, and I'm practicing offline in this game as much as possible so I may get halfway decent at it. "At times, the Tree of Liberty must be watered by the blood of Patriots."Thomas Jefferson |

I'm already good at the game
Anyway, not going to debate about that. If you want someone to fly against then I'm game, but again JSM's only. |

I'm up for a fight. I'm on EDT. What's your timezone?

you do know that aspect missiles are basically copies of the AIM-9x? an existing missile that employs thrust vectoring? and that it can be avoided with proper tactics?
theres always someone in a multiplayer game who claims a specific weapon is cheap or requires no skill...yet, they cant get around it. if there are rules to the weapon(which when you code, there must be rules) the weapon can be avoided. just study how to best use it, and work backwards. when i finally get my controller(soon...within a couple of days)i'll be willing to play however you want; i dont care, i just like the game and like to fly --- --- --- --- "...for in such dangerous things as War, the errors proceeding from a sense of benevolence are the worst."-Carl Phillip Von Clausewitz, Vom Kriege |

I'm EST
And AIM-9X are not in service yet as I recall, and they are also most likely not capable of firing from a rail, turning 360 degrees in half a second, and then flying straight back into an enemy ten feet behind you And either way, it doesn't matter if it's in real life, it's ****ty game design; HAWX obviously doesn't care about realism enough to even get aircraft models right, so why use the argument that it's based off of a real missile to defend it? Doesn't make any sense And anyway, doesn't matter to me, I'll fly anything. Probably will even get shot down too, I just went on today and man it's been awhile |

HAWX is based in a fictionalized near-future setting. that explains everything but the airplane models...as for those, i never have a chance to get a super-good look at them because i'm all over the place dodging missiles.
i dont mind getting shot down either. someone has to, right? take one for the team! or...take 8...or whatever. hehe --- --- --- --- "...for in such dangerous things as War, the errors proceeding from a sense of benevolence are the worst."-Carl Phillip Von Clausewitz, Vom Kriege |

Doesn't change the fact that it's terrible game design
Anyway, anyone on? |

I can play from 9h to 10h30 EDT, PM me if you want.

you mean like...a grenade, or landmine? |
|||
|
Yes and no, those two should hit allies and multiple targets, while it isn't true for AAM. Yet, it does hit, in short range, an enemy at any angle. |
||||
|

no, it doesnt hit an enemy at short range at any angle. its a fast lock, and a wide-angle on the lock due to modern advances in rear-facing radar, but i literally just witnessed an su-47 dodge 2 poorly placed AA's in a game of HAWX.
if the AI can avoid them, so can players. people used to say the same thing about earthshaker missiles in Descent 2...and accused you of cheating if you could dodge more than 1 of them. --- --- --- --- "...for in such dangerous things as War, the errors proceeding from a sense of benevolence are the worst."-Carl Phillip Von Clausewitz, Vom Kriege |

No, a grenade or a landmine require you to either aim the shot with the former or make the person walk over it with the latter. With the AAM you just get in the area of them and fire. And it locks on them and goes right to them. A grenade doesn't lock on, and it doesn't hone in on the target.

sigh.
okay, play 'fair' - with rules and guidelines ad nauseum - see how alive it keeps you. *points at clausewitz quote* |
|||
|
So now you're agreeing that AA missiles are unfair? Which is what I was saying? They're unfair and unbalanced?
