Sci-Fi freaks aren't typically arrogant, in my experience, just weird. But Trekkies typically do not enjoy my view of Star Trek, because I watch it for the humor. Come on, just tell me that they weren't all wasted on something when they did that 60's show!!

You might be surprised. I worked at a comic book/game store for a while, and have had to deal with more than my fair share. I don't have a problem with "nerdy" people, just arrogant pricks that don't know what they're talking about but still insist on talking.  ... Adnihilis knows what I'm talking about too, I'm sure.
