Not picking on you dude, but can anyone else imagine throwing John Shaft out the back of your plane? Who's the cat you can throw out, when there's missiles all about? Shaft! Right on. That tickled me. Anytime, Baby! |

I'd like to throw anyone from Ubisoft who came up with these stupid ideas for this game out of my plane. Then turn around before they hit the ground and light 'em up with my vulcan cannon.

I read through the preview and it all sounds a lot like AC6. This is not a bad thing in my opinoin as AC6 was great. But still, unless there is more new things to it than the ERS than I'm not sure how I feel about HAWX.

After realizing HAWX is an arcade game, Chong is going through 5 stages of losses. Lets see.... Denial... check. Anger stage... Chong is currently at it. Bargaining stage... Maybe we can mix sim options into this arcade game. Depression: Aww... there will never be a game to best Over G... why bother with gaming. Acceptance: even after the darkest nights....morning always comes. This message has been edited. Last edited by: PvtSkwerl, |

i don't believe it. all this ranting about cockpit view and all HAWX developers do is to ignore it! if they want to make money from this game so much, why don't they appeal to us then!! they saw how bad blazing angels did with all its complaints, and they don't care and want to commit the same mistake again! ARGH! how could this happen? could it be they wanted to be DIFFERENT? would NAMCO sue them if their game was too similar? well if they do release HAWX so badly i hope NAMCO makes a new Ace Combat that purposefully shows how BAD hawx WAS. Those people on IGN were probably lying anyway takling about how awesome it was.

Well, that settles it for me... the Tom Clancy franchise is the Dead Horse; and Ubisoft has beat it to Death with HAWX.
"With assistance off, the camera pulls far back giving you a broader view of the sky and your plane. Your combat vehicle becomes quite small on screen. With assistance off, you have no safety locks on your plane whatsoever. This means that you have no limitations to movements -- and no anti-stall countermeasures. The only way to pull off great aerial feats is with assistance off. You can hit the brakes, pull up hard to almost stall out, then as your plane starts to rotate over, accelerate to pull off a very sharp loop-the-loop. This type of maneuver is perfect for dodging incoming missiles or for turning the advantage on an enemy that's tailing you. It's also the best way to save your ass if you are about to crash into the ground or a mountain. You just can't turn as sharply with assistance on." In a few months I'll be playing DCS: Black Shark and I won't even remember this game. Also, check out this site for a new PC flight sim that's on the horizon. http://fighterops.com/ |

One Flare per missile? That's strange. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't usually planes shooting multiple flares instead of just one when under attack? Sigs & Avatars | Terms of Use | My Blog | Patches & more | Vth_F | W[N]M | NORG Xbox Live Gamer Tag: Vth F Smith |

I usually do 3 flares/chaff at a time. 2 certainly isn't much, but we also don't know at what point in the gameplay the screenshot was taken--could be after a lot of action for all we know. Mainly, I don't think that 175 is a number of missiles.

I still think the game looks interesting, since they mentioned it is a little less arcadey than Ace Combat Six, I think we can safely say that it is more arcadey than a SIM.
hwilsome of you are hoping for one or the other, I would suggest you reserve your 'judgements' until the game is in your hands! |

Amen to that man, I play LO-MAC and Falcon 4.0 I cannot stand arcade games, and have been watching fighterops and DCS for a while now. WOOT! Looks like fun!
The ERS is not what I expected, but seems to fit in well with the game. I hope the PC version has good multiplayer capability comparable to the Xbox 360 version! The article also didn't mention much about the different views either except that the ERS view is not as useful for general flight. There doesn't seem to be a Player to Target type of view system. I'm hoping that they offer more flexibility for the PC, with it's higher number of input options there's no reason to limit views etc. to the number of buttons. -Gel214th System Specs for Tech Support: Dell 710H2C|Quad Core|4 Gig RAM|8800GTX SLI|X-FI|24" Monitor |
