It has been years and years since a decent air combat sim has graced the PC. Infact I still find myself playing Jane's USAF because theres nothing else out there. Ace combat 6 looks real good but is only out on xbox, so finally a sigh of releif...

Anyways, anyone know if there will be a beta?

I'm not sure but I'd guess there might be one. Hopefully at least.

They're still out there, but you have to look for the smaller studios.

XSI(Falcon 4.0( is making a new game called fighterops that is going to be released about the same time as Eagle dynamics' DCS(3Q 2008) its going to be a great game fighterops, think of it like MS flight sim with great smooth graphics and guns and missiles... The whole world is at your disposal, fly anywhere do anything kind of game. I think it has great potential. Talk downs, intercept, SEAD, CAS, CAP, HAVCAP. That kind of stuff. Certainly has enough room for an air combat game...

JANES USAF is a Simucade. Play LOMAC or Falcon 4.0.

I don't have Falcon 4.0 because I lost the Flight Manual when I moved onto base when I finished Tech at Kessler in 05' and had to get rid of it. LOMAC I sold on ebay in 07' because I finally played Burning Cliffs as much as I could.

Feel free to name more. I've played LOMAC and falcon 4.0 and they dont seem up to par with usaf imo
