No Love for someone who plays AA~ T.O.P ??

Hay Metatrong here maybe you’ve seen me online? I really love dog fighting and usually land in the top 3 at the end of most online matches, but recently I starting liking to play AA (TOP) more when there is a 4v4 going on. I never do TOP in 2v2, seems pointless. But my question is this, why do people sometimes kick me from the game? Yesterday for example, my XP was like 1500, and the other 7 players only had like 400-500 XP. I was kicked after the match ended, even thou my team won and I came in late (2 min into a 10 min game); I suspect that it was due to the XP issue. In fact, I seem to get more XP playing defense than offence…

Also, most people don’t even notice when there’s someone playing TOP, you get like 8 flares, and with good tactics, you can dodge 40-100 missiles + all the TOP deflections. The first time I saw someone have so many flares in PVP I thought it was a cheat, lol.

So, does the general community hate TOP players?

I too have been playing TOP lately to get the points up and it is very effective especially when teamed with the FA/18E super hornet. in a 10 min round i can get 5000 points on a good day, that figure is nae on impossible using missiles. About the kicking i find once people see me with all those points at the end most of the players switch to TOP which sort of defeats the idea cos no ones firing any missiles lol.

The cool thing about TOP, is you still have Jstriks, so you can...still KILL! But its way more "lol" when you’re #1 and have 0 kills.

I think a good team set up could be:
1 top (like a protection monk)
1 "sniper" using guided Missiles (like an assassin)
2 "melee" using all aspects and multi aa's(like a warrior)

The idea would be for the sniper to keep the distance, top player in between sniper and the 2 melee's; the sniper would lead the pack and heard the foes for missile farming.

Maybe I should try to join a clan or something..

People don't know what TOP is. Since they don't know what it is, they have no clue how it works. When they see someone with such a huge amount of experience with barely any kills. They blame it on the hacks. When they see someone with 8 flares, they blame it on the hacks. When they see a streak of 15 with 2-3 kills, they blame it on the hacks.

That's all there's to it. If you want to go the TOP way, be ready to get kicked and called an hacker. I personally don't mind TOP players, they are more than welcome to play on my team. That way, I can get most of the kills while they cover my butt.

As for your theory, it mostly depends on what you are fighting and with which settings. A TOP player in a realistic match against rocket users isn't that useful.

hay oOMadMaxOo thanks for responding, Ive read alot of your posts. Your totally right on the realistic match settings not needing TOP. I try not to do Noob type stuff (like that would be)

I just cant belive...that people arnt down with playing TOP. and yes, like I said before..first time I saw it I was like ...cheet...

Its hard to pay.. and very fun. Almost as fun as being a sniper!

So, would you say, that the people kicking me are more NOOB's than pros?

Love the T.O.P. If it wasnt for it i wouldnt be at rank 37. I prefer to use the prowler and the gripen. If your in my game you wont be kicked for it. T.O.P. on!

Yeah, they probably just don't know it exists or how it works in the game.

TOP is as much fun and probably more challenging than shooting down other players with missles, though much tougher:

1. One has to keep the target in sight while not getting blasted out of the sky by others trying to eliminate the TOP player (guy with T.O.P. and guy with the most points)

2. It is challenging trying to deflect the missile to go after another enemy plane (so you can get TOP affinity) instead of having the missile just go after you

3. One gets a lot of points deflecting especially when the other team seems to be indiscriminately spamming/shooting lots of missles at the target being protected, but conversely having lots of missles coming from all four quadrants of the screen is rather hard to evade even with flares. Particularly harder when they are spamming AA everywhere.


T.O.P. seems to be a necessity if one wants to complete multiple challenges rather quickly while having less skill or experience including

a. TOP affinity -- TOP as favorite weapon

b. 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, ...streaks ...

c. Have another weapon such as RG listed as favorite for 10-20 games, especially when one is flying a plane with so few of the selected weapon -- here one has to use the particular weapon for a couple of kills and then switch to TOP so one doesn't accidentally start firing off the other weapons that would then become the favorite thus forcing one to have to start another series of TDMs to get that +1000 points

d. Combining challenges with those that require one to win x number of games using ground striker aircraft

I found it particularly rewarding one evening when at the end of one TDM match I had something like 8 of the challenges completed and showing up on screen. Feels much better than 1 challenge completed after a couple of TDMs.

WOW Dementor666 your right on. I too have completed many challenges using TOP. Thanks for pointing out the skill it takes to be good with AA.

People get mad because they don't think you are helping the team at all. Sure you deflect a lot of missiles but how many of those would've actually hit something? People fire off missiles as fast as they can just hoping to get a hit usually.

I like to use TOP and especially if I fly wingman and I know there is a AA lamer around targeting my friend.

Oh TOP get a lot more XP, and you play it in a team, it really puzzles your opponents who only want to shoot.

Would like to play with other teams using Top and no missle restriction (yeah you will have to wise with a AA because there is not gaurentee on hitting the target)

lol, yes they think you cheating especially if they think your friend is invincible, and they then tend to think theres cheating going on (yeah cheating using a top)
