F-15E Strike Eagle for speed and control, XA-20 Razorback for stealth, weapons pack, and looks, A-10 for killer Super-Cannon and only one with AA's and AG's. Honorable mention: Mig MFI for just fun to fly.

I would say that depends on your level and available weapons. Thats why I consider F-2 to be a very good, half way through the game, because its extremely versatile and has a lot of weapons available

I like the Avenger. Swooping around bombing ground targets at my leisure is a great way to blow off steam. Mind you, I just unlocked the Typhoon the other night (FINALLY!) and decided to take that bad boy for a spin on the Ulyssys mission. Multi-AA's and J-strikes for the bulk of the mission, plus rockets for the big ship at the end made for one quick level, LMAO! I couldn't believe how fast that thing went down when I poured my entire battery of rockets into it. If I had known it would be that easy, I would have swept up the other frigates first, LMAO!
