That would depend on how retarded the player is. If it's a "retard mode" then it should make it easier for us, intelligent players. Off isn't that hard if you practice with it a bit.

If people expect perfection and/or every option they want or think there should be, they're always going to be disappointed. It's so much easier to not sweat the small stuff and just enjoy the game....

Why am I getting the feeling that I am the only person who actually doesn't use the assistance on mode instead of the other way around... When the game doesn't absolutely demand it, that is.

lol, you're an idiot. I'm great at off mode, but it's still a retarded mode and horribly implemented.

Anyone who has played more than one airplane game knows the assitance off camera is a farce.

It will never be duplicated or used in any other flight game in the future. It's a bad idea that was tried once and never will be used again.

However it will forever serve as a bad example of what to do with the player's view and for that I am eternally grateful.

I actually like the camera view in assistance off mode, but I definitely think it should be optional as a fourth camera view and not mandatory in assistance off mode.

The camera in off mode is more or less a vector from camera to jet to target. The Jet, in normal control mode, moves according to where the camera is. Off mode is not merely a camera view, that's why it cannot be just the fourth view.

I like Off mode too. I wish I could fly AC5 in off mode.

I like the added aircraft performance. I don't like the RC atmosphere. I don't believe any other flight game developers will pick up on that view though they may replicate the extra aircraft performance.

I like sliding my jet around in the air as well. It's like skateboard tricks.

I don't mind the RC feeling too much. I normally fly outside of my jets anyway. I mean really, I'm using the PS3 controller and playing a virtual remote controlled jet anyway.

If I were a flight simmer as well as a flight actioner, I could understand not enjoying off mode I suppose, but that would be narrow minded, they are different types of games.

I gues my mind is too narrow... I figure if I wanted an RC experience, I'd go outside and fly an RC... silly me.

Liking flight sims and not liking off mode at the same time does not make one narrow minded. But if the reason that you don't like off mode is because it is different than a flight sim, well, it is different.

I played some since last posting about off mode a bit ago. I noticed rather enjoy moving the jet instead of the world. It really is two totally different game play engines.

I can appreciate that...

But you still are moving the world to get the kill, your aircraft is swirling around the inside of a bubble as you do it though.

But anyway it's great that you like it, there are many who do.

Guess I won't be seeing you when IL2 Bop hits...

Here is a poll begun on March 2nd with the last post dated May 24th. Nearly 600 people voted over that nearly 3 month period, and the results were that 84% of us wanted an Assistance Off optional camera view rather than the forced faraway third person perspective one at the very least.

I don't know about you, but 84% sounds like a majority.
