Finally got to level 40 9/9/09 -- 11 days after getting to level 39 and playing a couple of hours a night. Was able to get up to 12000 points/hour using the Eurofighter Typhoon with 60 MTAA in jammed Red Eagle sessions; didn't have to crash and respawn as often as with the 52 MTAA Su-37
Still, progression is way too slow. The payoff -- an Su-47 with two weapons pack with the same loadout (RG and AA), but one has more AA. Not as much fun to fly that one as the others. Other weapons packs and skins aren't all that great once you get past level 39 IMO.

Once you get the challenges complete, the actual finishing of a mission does not reward the pilot with any experience. The last mission may literally be the least rewarding, even if you kill every target.
20,000 from 39. I'll keep grinding to see how the Berkut flies.

The only reason to play campaign co-op Red Eagle is to jam it into infinite play and rack up the kills as fast as possible to get to level 40 to open all the planes, weapons packs, and skins (on console PS3 or Xbox 360; for PC, there is a complete profile that will open everything without having to play through it all).
TDM will take longer to get to level 40 unless you have someone who will allow you to chain kill for 36000 points per 15 minute session. Red Eagle after level 39 using Eurofighter Typhoon and 60 MTAA nets 12000 points/hour rather than 10000 points/hour using a 52 MTAA plane.
Su-47 in the end is not so great. No wonder I don't see any 5 stars playing it in TDM.
