Raymond Benson had wrote all 4 Splinter Cell Books. Would Checkmate and Fallout have been better?

Probably not. I like them better than I liked the first one and the bit of OB that I read.

Admittedly, I haven't finished Checkmate and haven't started Fallout (still working my way through my friend's Snow Crash), but what I've read in Checkmate so far is better than the first book and Operation Barracuda.

tmgbhot, Do you think the last two would've been good with Benson, though?

Hopefully the new one, Dead or Alive, will be good.

Dead or Alive? Never heard of it.
|
||||
|
Yep.
Unfortunately the Forum Nazis have deleted it even though the ones who actually work for Ubi have OKed me posting it. |

Are you sure it's a Splinter Cell book and not just another Clancy title?
Dead or Alive doesn't sound like a very related title if you ask me. "Operation Barracuda," "Checkmate," "Fallout," "Dead or Alive," just doesn't fit in very well. @_@ "ConViction is so different, you wonder what makes Ubisoft think this should even be called a sequel to the critically acclaimed and groundbreaking series." – IGN.com |

It's by the same author as the last two according to my sources.

A poke at light-hearted fun? If you pick Dead or Alive for a title and then people start poking fun at it, like Dead of Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball, well, you have only yourself to blame.
