So, I just saw this on Yahoo! They banned The Simpsons in Venezuela. Anyway I just think it's stupid to ban The Simpsons.

I think Family Guy is worse

My point is I didn't think The Simpsons were bad enough to be banned and replaced with baywatch

Its that President and future dictator over there that just wants some attention so he cancels out a few shows and tv stations to impress everyone. Its freaking politics and I dont know why they get involved in the Media but supposedly they say that the Simpsons corrupts children in Venezuela or in an easier way makes children into "Barts". In my opinion thats a load of BULL$$$#$#$!"#$!$#!$#

South Park goes way further than Family Guy.

Family Guy = Stupid humour that a 3 year old could understand. Fill the show with long filler, flashbacks, a pointless plot and POOF, you've got an episode.
The Simpsons = Well-constructed and funny humour that actually makes you think. And also gives a good representation of the American society.
South Park = See: "Family Guy".

Im 15,i watch all three of them.

South Park = My favorite,a bad show in the mind of adults,but my generation loves that stuff.

Family Guy = I like it a little less then south park just because i think its not as funny.

Simpsons = Too me it seems like the story in the episode drags on due too lack of jokes.Atleast jokes that make me laugh.

Good for Venezuela.

Everyone should stop beating the dead horse and end The Simpson's already. They jumped the shark years ago

I'm a huge fan of the mid 90's episodes, back when Conan O'Brien was writing for them, but there is nothing funny about any new Simpson's episodes.

Fortunately South Park has always been humourous, but I'd take the Office over any other comedic show.

Adults aren't limited to good shows. Adults write those shows, if you haven't noticed. And just because you're a teen doesn't mean you're limited to bad shows.

I get where your coming from,but whenever a show gets bashed for being "crude" its usually from adults.And thats also the case with video games.

A lot of these shows are not doing "cheap racist and sexual" stuff just to do them, they are trying to make a point.

For example, South Park got a lot of heat for a video they showed at the end of their "Cartoon Wars Part 2" episode showing Jesus Christ defecating on a group of people (including a pregnant woman and a homosexual), George W. Bush and an American flag.



But they weren't trying to be offensive to any specific group by doing that as much as they were trying to show hypocrisy on the part of Comedy Central.

Comedy Central would not show images of the Prophet Muhammad drinking tea, riding a horse or handing someone a football helmet, but they would show Jesus Christ defecating on people. It shows obvious favoritism for one religion over another as far as what Comedy Central would and would not allow to be made fun of on the air. A lot of time you have to really look at what shows...with intelligent writers...are trying to say. Look past the controversy to see what's really going on.

This is, of course, after they had already shown Muhammad once already before the Denmark newspaper thing happened.



Was what they did controversial? Absolutely. But they trying to make a fair point about controlling freedom of speech due to fear and hypocrisy on the part of tv execs.

As far as Family Guy...the jokes are totally random...do not come from the plot...basically drunken monkeys could write Family Guy.

When jokes are made about Jews they are usually coming from Cartman, who it is well established is very anti-social. The Jewish character, Kyle, is clearly portrayed as the most intelligent of the four main characters.



The jokes are more intended to make Cartman (the protestant white one) look bad, not insult Jews.

Jewish people can make fun of themselves and non-jewish people

Black people can make fun of themselves and non black people

and white people can't make fun of anybody

I know its not fair, but that's how stereotypes are today. Whites are considered the "racist race"
, so anything and everything they say about other races is a potential scandal.
