Ok, so I came across a space thread in a particular forums, decided to see how well it does here, anyways, im not really a space nerd by any means, so I dont know a whole lot, but yesterday when I came across this, it blew me away. Basically just some info/pictures people might not know about.

"Hubble Ultra Deep Field"(click to enlarge)

Just about every dot/blip/light you see in this picture is a Galaxy, It has been counted over 10,000 galaxys exist in this picture, just like ours, the Milky Way. To add, this picture is roughly one thirteen-millionth of total sky area.

This is the furthest away from earth a picture has ever been taken. (Voyager 1 1990)

That is earth. ("Pale Blue Dot")

The rest of the images ill post are just random and are all actual pictures, no artwork, 3d rendering etc.

Will post more later.

Makes you really wonder about life on other plantes.

I kinda laugh at the mainstream people who say that we are the only ones.

Common sense would just lead you to believe that there is life out there.

We cannot be just the only ones out there.

I am a space nerd. Okay I have been found out. with all the lifting weights and jock things I do. I have a really big telescope at my house that I love. We pull it out on mild nights and look. It is really fun.

Billions and Billions and Billions of planets out there, even if only 1 in a billion was habitable... Thats still a fairly large number.

I love pictures like this. I have a few... let me see if i can dig them up.

Edit:

^ Awe Inspiring.

I'm not a space geek, though I do find it all pretty interesting. I don't think I could really focus on it, though, because the concept of infinity bothers me. Tongue

Oh, and I know this guy (seriously):

No one is a bigger 'space nerd' than me. I'm taking Astronomy just for the hell of it, acing it, too. And I also have my own telescope that I use twice a week. I even got to see the lunar eclipse last week with it and it was amazing ^_^

Space is really mysterious. Makes you get the chills that there's possibly life on other planets besides Earth. And as much as I love this, I could never ever be an astronaut. That's just way too freaky...

back on topic: yes i truly believe there are life on other planets. i mean come on. There are numbers bigger than we can ever imagine of different stars planets and galaxy's and people saying there is no lifew on it is just ignorant. i can only imagine what other intelligent life will look like. Jeez wouldn't it be sweet! (if they didn't kill us all Smile )

Im taking astronomy too... not quite acing it because of how the work is set up (given all at once, so nothing has really been turned in)

I love looking up at stars, telescopes are for OOH AH OOOH type moments, where as just looking up at the stars is for reflection and tranquility.

Even if it is life on other planets, it may not be very communicative. Look at Earth: millions of different species, yet only one with a higher logical sense. I mean, what a bummer to finally discover som extra terrestrial being, only to find that the most advanced thing it can do is to spew goo in you face.

Im not a big fan of flying, but have you guys ever looked out of a plane window at 35,000ft and seen nothing but clouds and blue sky?

That is something I could do everyday.

I love to fly and the wildest sight I have ever seen is a thunderstorm from above. Flashes of lightning all over the place.

I took these many years ago.

I took them while flying in this.

I can understand why. I think it is a human way of thinking that "everything has to be created this way and by these means". The universe has always existed and will always exist.
So, when your brooding by yourself, the question eventually comes: What if this Big Bang/Crunch cycle theory is true? And what if it has happened millions of times before we even existed? It literally would have had to.

An upcoming novel by me.
Thanks Melonie for the sig!

Kind of like the Mass Effect Cycle Theory (although it probably didnt originate with mass effect, just something people should know)

Except a trillion year cycle instead of 50,000.

One of those (or something similar...I'm not exactly an expert Veryhappy) flew over my house not too long ago. We get flight for life helicopters all the time, but that was the fist dual deal I'd seen.
It was really low (I'm at about 8,500'; not sure where they max...), and really loud. Tongue

Yeah, it just makes my brain hurt. It all started with those horrible parabolas in school...

Infinity's just bad, though – how can something, like space, go on forever? And if doesn't, what's beyond it? It can't be nothing, because nothing is something... LoL

That looks like a Chinook series.
Not sure what exact model (esp. down to the last letters and digits), but I'm sure that what series it is.

An upcoming novel by me.
