Saturday, I am going to Busch Gardens and do some things I haven't done in some time. Get drunk and ride roller coasters (ya can't drink at Six Flags parks).

This year is The Loch Ness Monster Roller Coaster's 30th anniversery and I rode it the first year (then I went to work at BG). I have ridden it some 660+ times over the years. One time I even rode it in front of the harness. What a ride. Wooooooooooooooo hooooooooooo.

I also plan to ride Apollo's Chariot, Alpengiest and the newest one Griffon. I plan on taking my camera and my video camera. I plan on posting videos and pics of the rides.

Come Sunday, I plan on helping my Pops hang a storm door then we are taking Ma out for dinner.

Cool Smile
I rode the new Furius Baco (fastest accelerated coaster in Europe, 85mph or 135km/h in 3s) and my used-to-be-favourite Dragon Khan )8 inversions),
Stampida and some small coasters at PortAventura like a week ago. And the new 100m freefall Smile Huratan Condor or whatever.

Sounds like fun. I went to Busch Gardens 10 years ago when I could only ride the smallest one (I think it was red or some color like that).

There aren't any good amusement parks down here besides Six Flags (which isn't great). So every other year or so I go to Cedar Point. Smile Lot's of fun there.

ROFL!!! Too Happy

Yeah, he's all, "This year is the Loch Ness Monster Roller Coaster's 85th anniversary, and I rode it the first year (then I had to get a hip replacement)."

LOL! No really, he may be one of the older ones here, but he's one of the coolest! Like scworld said, forum daddy, all the way. He's the man. Cool

I had a good time. Bob the Burgermiester has retired (as of 2002 and after the last time I went) and some old friends were no longer there. He first started there in 1975, the second year the park was open.

Alcohol wise, I had like 5 20 oz beers and a 16 oz beer over the course of the day if I remember right. I rode both the Loch Ness Monster and Griffon twice. That is a trip, 205 feet, straight down at over 70MPH. They let you hang for a few seconds before you actually drop. The second time I rode it was at night jamming to some Ozzy (I had my MP3 player and wished they had that 30 years ago, I would have had an even better time riding the LNM back then).

This is a pic of me on Griffon for my second ride (I don't have a scanner and didn't have it emailed to myself like I did this one).

I need to download the video from my camera to my PC and edit it all. Unfortunately, I couldn't get video while riding Griffon or Alpengiest and messed up the video on Apollo's Chariot (actually makes good use of the terrain as the camelbacks follow the hills and is a fast ride too and you pull 4.1gs), but I have some cool video of Griffon.

The red roller coaster is called The Big Bad Wolf and I got that video at dusk and is a bit dark.

There is also a new (for me at least) "flight simulator" type ride that is unique called The Dark Kastle that has 3D video screen with armored skeletons poking at you with spears, swords and other impliments, wolves and other things popping out of the screens and I just happening to be listening to Blue Oyster Cult's Harvester of Eyes. Talk about a trip. Pretty wicked really.

OK, here is some raw video of Griffon. I need to get VirtualDub it looks like. Nero Vision will not let me cut out a section of even 2 seconds. Blink

Griffon

This is in .mpg format and should run in WMP.

AngelFire is 65 (or 66, not sure which), and I'm pretty sure BTOG is in his 60s as well. Though I seem to remember someone else, too.

Glad to hear you had a good time, WK Happy Thumbs Up
