Ok, I'm not trying to start a political argument, but from what I heard Obama is going to take away all guns. But doesn't that go against the 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms?

I personally hope he does. But that's just me being my Canadian self.

This is gonna lead to a closing really quick, so before it does:

Technically, it is against the constitution to infringe upon the 2nd amendment as it is interpretted right now. However, the constitution is made to be amended as is needed, and the way America is leaning now, I wouldn't be surprised if 60 million people spoke for 300 million again....but I digress.

There is a problem growing that few in the media have spoken about and it is next years census. It appears that our new President wants to take it out of the Commerce Departments control and place it in the White House.

The text of the 2nd Amendment is this, and is the root cause of much of the argument on the subject:

That first part, "A well regulated militia", is taken by many of the advocates of gun control to mean that only organizations like the National and State Guards are allowed weapons under the amendment. Personally, I have a different view. Almost all of the arguments as to why certain gun regulations aren't in violation of our Constitution are based in that phrase "a well regulated militia".

I just don'e see the American People standing for something that is one of the root freedoms of our nation.

There have been to many studies and looking at other countries that have something in place of the same regulations that have turned out to be failures.

The biggest thing being that you take the gun out of the law abiding citizens hands and then the only ones that will have them is the criminal and any one person who does not believe this is in bad denial about the reality of the real world.

As far as the Second Amendment, Obama would have a hard time overturning the Supreme Courts ruling last year.
