hello i didn't know where else to ask this....
been flying this series since 1995.

love lock on with head tracking and all.

but i always thought flanker 1.5 was very special. it runs great in my win xp laptop but the joystick doesn't work in the sim. i was wondering if anyone has a fix for this?

You need to be more specific about your joystick problem.

Ok --erractically is the key word here.

The original Flanker and all of its patches did not fly well. The version contained a graph in the options menu intended to allow you to smooth out the pitch, roll and rudder responses (increase or decrease the stick sensitivity). Only problem was these adjustments were non-functional. It was a major bug in the program that was never finished programming.

Starting with Lockon (or maybe it was Lomac) they fixed this and now you can adjust out these jerky and erratic movements.

Read my post on this forum page titled "Smooth and Controllable Flying" and then install Lockon.

Lockon is still Flanker but with the addition of some new planes to fly and a vastly increased operational area and a lot of bug fixes. And you can improve on that by installing Flaming Cliffs over it along with the 1.12 patch.

And then you will have Flanker all dressed up with the finest linen.

thank you for your answering.

i use to be in the flanker ladders back in 1995.
we use to think flanker was the greatest flight sim ever... and it was.(in terms or flying physics) so dog fighting with guns only was a total rush

it use to work wonderfully in windows 95-98.
i think the problem i have now is having a USB joystick. i wish someone would make a fix for this.
i mean, after all... most people wouldn't be able to fly lock-on on their laptops but in terms of gameplay.. flanker 1.5 is a good substitude. i remember flanker 2 totally sucked.
i was so disapointed with flanker 2 that eventually i took it off my HD, but flanker 1.0-
1.5 has always been in my computer.

i have lock-on/flaming cliffs all modded and it looks like a dream and i even have track ir.

but still i swear i wish i could get this flanker 1.5 going!

the joystick, even tho calibrates well, when i get in the plane i have full range in the X axis
but very little range in the Y.
i know this is an XP or USB issue.
Ironically i can get other older games to work fine joystick wise.

oh, and you are so right when you say lock-on still flanker in terms of game play.
I was so happy that lockon didn't fallow flanker 2. flanker 2 just never felt right.

Correct axis adjustments can increase or decrease the effective joystick range of any axis.

The more sensitive you are around the centerpoint the more increase in range of motion you will have. The less sensitive the less range of motion.
