MiG-29 has a poor radar compared to other jets in Lockon. How far away are your targets? How big are your targets? You might try changing your targets to be big, fat transports or bombers and see if they show up.
You could add a friendly AWACS into the mission and it can tell you where the targets are which can help you to be sure that your radar scan cone is looking at the correct piece of the sky. I assume you pressed "2" for BVR mode and "I" to switch on the radar. Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum.... |

Not only that- but radar is not an instant on "god's eye" sensor. It's like a flashlight beam in a pitch black darkroom. You must swing the beam around to see what's going on up, down, left, and right. If you just leave the radar on default straight ahead- I could be in that room right standing right there, and you couldn't see me, could you? Radar is the same way.
I wrote this on my site years ago- and it's NO different today. Pilot- The most important component here. Understand some things now. 1. This simulation is f*!# ing HARD. Leave your ego at the hangar. No Whining. 2. Lazy console gamers need not apply. You WILL spend lots of time studying, reading, training in Navigation, Instrumentation, Weapons, radar & sensors, other aircraft, and the capabilities/ limitations of all of it, friend and foe. You can tune the difficulty settings to “retard”- but you won't learn anything. Don't beleive me? Well- go ahead and spend weeks "learning" LOMAC on easy settings. Then- get online & join us in one of the big public servers! You will get your clock CLEANED early & often, and end up frustrated quickly. No one wants you to quit. There is nothing more rewarding than learning the sim & flying it as it was intended to be flown. Don’t take the easy way. You won’t last. Lock on provides some critical training classes in the game. Use them. There are also other pilots that have training sites for all sorts of LOMAC related stuff. Rich "Ironhand" Sorochak's "Flankertraining.com" is one of the best. Need help? Click sig for Kon's *NOOB FRIENDLY* LOMAC site Click HERE for LOMAC FAQ's. The key to flying is to throw yourself at the ground, and miss.. |
