if the "floating in the sky" problem is what i think you are describing, you need to trim the aircraft while you are flying. increased airspeeds increase lift, causing the nose to climb and vice versa. add up or down trim to stabilize.
for your other questions, the manual is the best place to start there. give some of the terms specifically and forum members should be able to help. the UPT combined with the manual really does teach tons. come back to the forums afer spending some time with them and we can help fill in the holes. and check out flankertraining.com, amazing tutorials there. i'm not sure there's much of the basics to begin with, but once you know how to keep your plane in the air, a lot of good tactics and advice to be found on that site. |

Hours of practice my friend. But with my "limited" flying time here's what I've learned:
1) A good joystick. Some may be able to fly using keyboard & mouse but very few. 2) TRIM, TRIM, TRIM! Once in the air, trim takes pressure off the flight controls which makes it easier for you to control your aircraft. 3) Start at the beginning. Learn your aircraft. Focus on one thing and practice until you don't have to think about it anymore. I've been flying for months and I still just taxi, takeoff, circle the field and land. (But I have a real life that cuts into my flying time. Darn wife, kids, job, etc.!) If you have a specific problem just ask here. These guys (and gals I guess) are always helping fellow pilots! Good Luck! |

I don't quite understand what you mean. Flying straight should be very easy with keyboard, as you don't have to trim at all . You do understand that if you tap the keys lightly (short period of time)is different then pushing the key and holding it down ? Forgive me for this question but i'm trying to understand what you find so difficult about flying the plane . _____________________________ E8600 (4,2 ghz) Evga 780 i OCZ 2 GB Reaper GTX 285 SLI |

Thanks guys!
i will try read the manual and do some practice. Game_On, my problem is once i am in air, either planes goes at high altitude or if i press down (only for short time, not keep on pressing) plane goes down and crash I want to keep the plane in a fixed speed and altitude. I think, now you understand my problem. thushanthan. |

Flying Lockon from the keyboard is an exercise in futility----this sim (like so many others) requires a joystick and lots of hard work and study. Don't even try to correct your keyboard flying problems ---- get a HOTAS type stick and start your training from there.

That's weird. But if you tap a key lightly, the plane does not overreact right ? A tap on the up or down key only makes the plane move a tiny bit , or so it should be. It should be easy enough to get your plane flying for minutes on end without having to adjust it. As for EXACT altitude hold, that's not very easy, neither with joystick of keyboard, unless you press ALT-H , (or maybe it was ALT-1) _____________________________ E8600 (4,2 ghz) Evga 780 i OCZ 2 GB Reaper GTX 285 SLI |

hi guys,
sorry for that silly question. i totally forgot to increase the speed normally after take off, i reduce speed to 60%. but in the tutorial, i noticed it is 90% the normal air speed. now its ok once again, thank you for all your replies. thushanthan. |
