Hmmm, I was finally able to finish the A-10 campaign. I learned the hard way that the only way to beat a mission is to never use outside view, never make sharp turns that cause the cockpit voice to talk while your Maverick is in the air, heaven forbid if i have to fly through smoke from the cannon rounds against an enemy tank.... All those things cause crashes for my game about 1/3rd of the time (literally).

Also, about A10's mission "destroy artillery sites", i had to re-fly it 6 times before it would let me progress. After I'm done the mission, land and exit, I get the victory sounds, but the thing freezes. And about 1-2 minutes later crashes with a "problem and needs to close" screen.

Now, with the F-15 campaign, it does the same thing... I had to redo mission 3 about 4 times cause of crashes. And I still get freezing and crashing if i launch a missile and cockpit voice comes on.
Can't remember all the things that happened, but the latest example was:

I shot an AIM-9 at a Russian guy. Since he fired at me at the same time, i launched flares, rolled halfway and weint into a turn, with an immediate "OVER-G, OVER-G, OVER....." it froze and crashed...

A little frustrating. I have the last patch for the stock game, not that flaming cliffs thing. Is there a way to fix this problem?

[edit] I am at uni right now, so can't check PC specs. I do know that i have 256MB of RAM, and 2 point-something GHz CPU.

My machine can hangle silent hunter 3 with a GWX-2 mod no problem... Only slowing when there's a lot of stuff on the screen. If that helps...

256 mb ram is not enough. if your processor is AMD you might be ok, if it's intel it is also inadequate. as a temporary fix you might try turning off the cockpit voice and tuning down your graphics settings.

256 RAM?? Can the OS even run on that? Go ahead and post your specs but if your RAM is any indication of the rest of your PC- be thankful it runs at all.
