On mission 6 of the Su-27 campaign entitled "Escort anti-ship strike", the briefing says that I have to "escort a flight of Su-30 strike fighters to sink the Perry". I eventually completed it after meeting heavy resistance; destroying all the enemy bandits and allowing the 2 Su-30s to bomb the Perry. Once I saw that the Perry was on fire and that all bandits had been killed I flew back to base and landed. I then quit and saved on the debriefing screen, but when I exited and went to the campaign screen, it said I hadn't completed it yet!
I don't wanna have to go through dodging all those damn AIM-120C missiles again and find out that I didn't complete the mission again, so is there anything that I missed out that I was supposed to do? One thing to note is that 1 of the Su-30s was shot down, but between the 2 of them they still managed to destroy the Perry. Are both of the Su-30s supposed to survive?
Fires can be put out, you need confromation that it was sunk. Just cuz its on fire doesn't mean its sunk. Modern warships are hard to destroy. So, re-do the mission, and this time make sure it gets sunk.

and saved on the debriefing screen........Are both of the Su-30s supposed to survive?
I think your supposed to save at the next missions map, and secondly look at the misson goals, if it sais something like SU-30 SURVIVE then they must SURVIVE

The only requirement is that the Perry be destroyed. There are no aircraft "Must Survive" requirements. If you failed the mission, the likelihood is that the Perry was not destroyed. As Wags94 notes, a ship can be on fire and still survive. The visual cues are as follows: 1) On fire but still moving--assuming it was moving to start with: The fire will be put out and the ship will survive. 2) On fire and slowing to a complete stop: The fire will not be put out and the ship will sink.
So in a mission with external views enabled, check the ship's speed on the F2 status bar. If external views are disabled, you would have to eyeball it and see if it is still has a bow wave or is leaving a wake of some sort.
Well I wouldn't worry too much, you did what you were supposed to do, you dealt with the bandits and protected the anti-ship flights so they could launch. If the AI is such that the ship did not sink, that's not your fault - I seem to recall that many of those antiship missiles just plain miss the Perry.
Anyway, that is the last mission in the campaign isn't it? So getting a SUCCESS or not doesn't matter as there are no subsequent missions to progress to....
or you can press the " ' " apostrophy buton which will display the misson goals and if they are completed or not by percentage and scores in multiplayer
