Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to Lock On but have a good idea what I'm doing when I play. However, I simply cannot get past the second mission in the F-15 campaign; the A-10s never kill all of their targets, even if they survive the entire duration of the mission. This is immensely frustrating for me because the problem isn't in my control; it's in the control of those darn A-10s. Could someone who's gotten past this mission give me their F-15 campaign file? I figure I'll just skip this mission and play the rest in order. If not, could someone at least give me some key tips I might be missing, such as a way to tell the A-10s to attack their targets?
I don't think the A10's have anything to do with whether you succeed in that mission or not. I believe you have two groups of fighters you have to shoot down for mission success. Press the ' key while flying the mission to open up the Mission Goals Display.
Note: to play any mission in a default campaign press ctrl+shift+D and type the password eagle.
Depends on which version of the sim you are flying. If you are flying V1.12, then it's as Cosmonaut says--the A-10s completing their mission is irrelevant to mission success. If, OTOH, you are flying V1.02, then those A-10s must both 1) destroy their targets and 2) survive. Unfortunately, the F-16 SEAD flight (also part of your airgroup) is also set up as having to survive--an impossibility, since they continue attacking any radar platform they run across (whether mission critical or not).
The best you can hope for is a partial success. Skip it and move on.
I had a similar problem in another mission awhile ago and instead of skipping the mission I just removed the mission goals for all the AI aircraft so mission complete was down to my performance during the flight, as it should be.
Seems like Cosmonaut was right; I finally passed the mission by simply killing all the bandits and then ending the mission. =) Thanks a lot for the feedback, guys.
