In Lock On there is no modeling of your plane's speed adding inertia to a missile launch. So, if you launch at 200kn or 600kn, your missile will have the same speed and range. Altitude, however, is modeled and being at a higher alt will give your missile more range.

So then, only fly faster than corner speed if you have to. Simple as that. I use 350-450kn IAS depending on weight.

For a listing of settings on our server see http://169thpanthers.com.au/fo...opic.php?f=18&t=1029

Here are the default LRM settings:

Flanker Su-27/33:
AB : Only restricted by IAS: 950 kph
Flaps : Curve depending on speed, ranging from about 2.5-5G., Flaps auto in above 600 kph

MiG-29
AB : Only restricted by centerline tank
Flaps : No G limit, auto in at 600 kph (Since they cannot be deployed above either)

F-15
AB : Not above 14 degrees AoA or Mach 1.0
Flaps : Not above 2.5 G or 260 kts IAS

Phill, many feel your pain. I thinkk it is smart and freakin stupid at the same time that lrm each server set's what it wants to use. There should be 1 standard and that's it. Going into different severs and having different features enabled sucks. You have to figure out what they have. That's why I fly in a few and that's it.

I undersatnd your comment Cali, but why not just list the LRM details in the mission brief? Our briefings have a link for more info. All it takes is a few minutes to see what's going on, but yes, it does make it confusing to a degree.

It still should be standard across the board. It doesn't matter if you list it in the brief or have a link to it. Hopefully ed has most of the features in the upcoming patch.

wow..i didnt know it was so...so all my hitting afterburner to get the egde of range was futile...no wonder i went down in flames.
better fly slow to make closure rate slower against enemy missiles.
