it is the degree angle you view your cockpit view. 60 is the default setting, where you see mainly the HUD and the top part of the cockpit. The higher the number you select, the wider and more you see of the cockpit's intruments, all the way down to the joystick itself. It would be like as you see it if you were sitting in it in real life.
Likewise, zooming in and out so much that the default angle is of no matter. I have edited so that I can zoom in further for when I am working air to mud.

how do you do that? i noticed after installing FC that the zoom levels were different. the neutral zoom is further in than it was in 1.02
Jeez, now you're asking Did it so long ago I cant really remember.
Look for CockpitViewAngleMinimum (?) or something like that.
I think it is a file called view.lua or view.cfg or cockpit.lua in folder ...lockon\config\view
Sorry I cant be more specific, someone who can remember might be along shortly. Try experimenting yourself, just be sure to backup any files you mess with.....
