Try turning sound hardware acceleration either off or dial it down with the dxdiag tool, if you haven't already. If you're not familiar with what I'm talking about, from your Windows task bar, click the START button, click run, and type in: dxdiag . Click OK. After DirectX does it's thing, click on the Sound tab. You'll see what I'm referring to.

I also have a problem with my sound as well as x52 controller. The sound works fine until I attempt to fly the A-10, than I have no sound at all. Also I've set the options for my controller but for some reason every thing works except the throttle control, I can not get the throttle to work even through all the axis are properly set and the x52 pro is selected. Any Ideas? Thanks

You have a sound mod installed, don't you? IIRC if you have Flaming Cliffs and install any of ZZZSpaces sound packs that don't specificially say they're for FC your A10 sound will disappear.

That's where I started at. I've done everything except program the buttoms and made a profile for the x52. Still the same problem, do you think I need a reinstall? Thanks

If you're having sound stutters, no sound on the A10 and joystick probs I suggest reinstall.

Ok, I reinstalled an everything is working ok but the (throttle) thrust. The throttle is registering on the instrutments but it not affecting the speed of the A/C. I can move the throttle to afterburners(full forward) on the x52pro and it shows the turbofans rpm increasing but it doesn't translate to any increase in aircraft speed. Even with the throttle full open and a climb I get the low airspeed warning. Any Ideas? Thanks

Air brakes are not open,

specs,
3.0ghz,
160HD,
1gb mem,
512mb nvidia graphic card
win xp home sp2 installed.
It's funny because if I fly the f-15 the throttle works fine throttle open more speed closed less speed. but with the A-10 no speed increase of decrease at all. Also I have no other buttons assigned only pitch, roll and yaw. I don't need a defrag but I will try that and see what happens. Will get back after the defrag. Thanks

How about taking a look at the throttle in the cockpit. If it moves, then your throttle is assigned properly in-game. If it doesnt, then you have your throttle assigned to another axis.

The throttle moves in the cockpit, but I think I might be expecting something else so I'm going to try to setup a takeoff just to see. If it provides power for a takeoff than I need to go back and read up on the A-10 because I'm expecting different result. Will get back as soon as I set this up. Thanks

Yeah, it occurred to me that you might be expecting the hog to be faster than it is. It's not exactly a speed demon. Think top speed for a WWII fighter and you'll be in the ballpark.

I was having sound problems with the engines in IL-2, the problem was the two (2) sound files in the root dir. ie, (snd)had become corrupt, don't know if this will help in lock-on but that was the cause of my sound problems. ccrlyles
