Well i definitely want to get a HOTAS. been wanting one for years.
Im going with saitek, cause well money's kind of an issue.
Just need to know is the x52Pro really WAYY better than the x52 non-pro?
Cause i was reading around about people saying the x52 is flawed and has centering and deadzone problems, with it being sloppy and non-durable?? Also lacks precision?
Is the pro really THAT much better?
Cause im not a true PRO flight simmer, more on the casual-hardcore side. So i might not even notice this? (after all i am upgrading from a Cyborg Evo! Im sure the x52 has got to be wayy better than that)
I use a x52 and really really like it. I upgraded from a logitech wingman3d of something and the improvement was immense. That said I have noticed the stick has a large "center dead zone" or lacks a bit of precision for very small corrections I supposse if you were to do some very tight formation flying or somthing it would be a bother but day to day lomac/fs2008/Arma/ect I love the thing. Prolly my favorite buy so far.
Same here, I use the X52, but must admit, if it ever breaks down, I MAY (key word there) go to a 52 Pro. Not too sure yet, would have to do some research. If you search these boards enough, you'll find split opinions about the 52's, some love em', some hate em'. I personally love mine, I upgraded from a Saitek ST290 Pro and eventually with be purchasing a TrackIR and some CH rudder pedals.
Think about it.....why worry about things you can't change!!!
Honestly, its not worth the extra 60 bucks difference between the sticks. I have the pro and bought it after I donated my old X52. The only difference between them is the paint, some chrome, and an extra spring on the stick.
If you intend on eating lead paint chips, bring salsa.
I see. Well i really want to get the X52 no doubt here.
In my country, its about a $100 difference so thats alot for me.
Is this dead zone issue more or less negligible for the non pro x52? Cause im not into the formation flyign thing yet....just load up, take off and attack (:
It feels a little bit more exact with precision than the X52, and Ive heard horror stories with the quality on how well both are built....but my X52 lasted for over a year and a half and was still in decent shape before I sent it off. Honestly, if your going to invest some money into a flight stick, you should try CH gear instead. I just got the pro because I found it for a good deal.

I have pro. Bought over ebay for a little over $100. It works great. Better than my old thrustmaster(the old 1 without throttle control). I just feel the only advantage that pro has over x52 is its springs r a bit tighter. Both r good sticks. But x52 is more economical. I just have complaint about both sticks. Both of them are kinda loose. I wasn't used to the feel at first after spending several years jerking with the tough thrustmaster. Wish they could've made them a bit tighter.
I just had one small prob with my X52 which was the 2nd hat switch didnt work right. so Saitek sent me a new stick free of extra charge, with good customer care and service! Now that I've read the above posts its very light on the hand, but I find that a bonus when youre going to land, when you need small course adjustments.
well i have been using x-45 for quite a few years, just now giving me trouble, will get the x-52 pro soon but for now have to settle for the saitek aviator. Those controllers have to grow on you and ounce you get use to them there is no turning back.
