Recently I saw one of my Mavericks kill a tank and at the same time it knocked another one sideways into a ditch.
I created a tank battle with one group moving through the woods --- I enjoyed watching the action with explosions and the woods at close in were fantastic. Yesterday I was testing various weapons against large container ships. The MK-82's did not seem to have the punch to do much damage so I switched to MK-84's. I hit the ship squarely and got a nice fire burning. I continued watching the fire for a couple of minutes and then saw a large secondary explosion and the ship slowly started sinking --finally only a small mast was out of the water and it also went under. I shot a Maverick at a Frigette and saw the ship fire 20mm at the Maverick from about 2 miles out until it hit the ship. There were two large cranes on a dock tending the container ships and they were moving their hook arm up and down and sideways as if in the process ofr unloading the ships. I have found this sim to be even more interesting than I ever thought it was by just using the F keys a lot and watching the show. These kinds of things I doubt most folks will ever see from the cockpit view as we fly in combat. |

Yeah, a quick look at the Lockon encyclopedia says that the Mk82 only has 89kg of "bang" inside it, whereas a Mk84 has 428kg. A long time since I was bombing ships but I seem to recall you need 3 or 4 Mk82 hits to equal a Mk84 hit.
Indeed. This was one of the reasons why I did my Map Tours. Lockon is so much more than just shooting stuff. It's interesting just to fly around and explore the map. The Devs put lots of interesting things on the map, historical monuments, etc. Crimea Tour http://www.lockonfiles.com/mod...Radar_Dude#dldetails Caucasus Tour http://www.lockonfiles.com/mod...Radar_Dude#dldetails Other things you can see are yellow construction cranes in towns which move. Have you figured out at what time the crane drivers start work and quit work? They don't move all the time. Beach umbrellas for the tourists, there are sail boats too - do you know what number is on the sail of the sailboats? Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum.... |
