Just got my new TrackIR ---seem to have it working pretty good but not as good as I would like to have it.
There is a curve adjustment routine that you can reset the pitch and yaw curves to reduce the twitching in the center forward view and yet still have good panning range and speed. Does anyone have suggested settings for these two curves. |

After several hours of testing I have arrived at what I think is an improvement in the TrackIR settings.
http://s588.photobucket.com/al...chandYawsettings.jpg Here are my tweaks for TrackIR (1) Notice that the speed slider is set on 0.3 and the Smooth slider is set on 98. I do not think the smooth slider does very much but am not sure. (2) now create yourself a new profile and call it whatever you want. This will allow you to do whatever you want with out messing up any of the other profiles. And if you do not like the new one you can go back to what you have been using. (3) Go to the bottom of the page and click on Pitch. (4) take each of the dots on the right side of the graph (only the ones on the right hand side ---the corresponding left hand dots will mirrow the right ones) and set them as I have shown here. Just highlight the dot and slide it into position. (5) now click on Yaw (6) Move the dots again as I have done in my example. (7) move the scrollbar up and click on the save icon. This type curve (a U type) allows the center section of travel to be at zero and the dot next to it very close to zero. This creates stability at the center point of the cockpit. The steep slope going up the graph allows good sensitivity to panning side to side and up and down. This curve is not perfect but very close to a happy medium between stability in the forward view and good travel when panning. I have disengaged roll, X, Y and Z axis. If you do not want to do that you will probably have to set each ones graph curve like the Pitch and Yaw curves. If not they will certainly contribute to center position instability --no matter that your pitch and yaw do not. I see no reason for engaging these axis ---they just contribute to instability and personally I see no benefit in Lockon to use them ---that is unless you just feel you are not getting your moneys worth by disengaging them. This is just for your info ---in case you want to improve your center view stability and still have good panning. |
