Sure. You'll find us kind of scattered about these days in HL servers. We no longer keep our own server, but we still keep a TS channel running 24/7 We don't do as much A2A- what made us famous years ago- But you'll find several guys in TUAF2, as well as flying in the RED FLAG events. Personally- I have been taking a break from the SU25T & getting back into my SU33 lately, but I don't care to fly A2A lonewolf.
To join our TS channel- configure TS as follows: Under the "local addressbook" tab: right click/ new server Name it Savage 77th Server address IP: 209.20.248.190:8781 Nickname: Your choice NO check for "allow server to assign a nickname" select "anonymous" server password: savage check auto reconnect "optional" section: leave blank. |

Sweet, will check it out!
I played coop missions with this awesome laid-back greek dude that were really patient with me and helped me along. Before i knew it 2-3 hours had gone by blasting ships, F-14s and coastal artillery.. It's the first time I ever played without labels on, and jesus wept! It's so incredibly much more immersing and exciting and interesting. You actually have to use the radar to gather information, not only for locking the bogey. It felt much more like what I've read about sumarine-warfare for instance. I even learned to keep myself inside of a few hundred meter of my wingman for minutes on end (one time even within a few meters for 10+ seconds.) Can't wait to get better! I'll definitely hook up with you soon online, Konkussion, and get more into ground attackers as i go. Edit: I'll even definitelier be getting myself TrackIR4 and a high-en headset with it. |

I'm having huge problems separating friend from foe. On most of the servers I have played on, you have all planes available to both sides, and we have no labels. The only way for me to see if someone is friendly or not then, is through the use of the radar. When everyone use ecm 99% of the time, that gets kind of pointless. How do you guys do it?

There a a few non-sensor ways. Admittedly- IFF is a bit easier in the Russian planes when you have an AWACS or EWR up & running. The jammers do not affect the datalink display.
First- where is the target in relation to the enemy's homeplate? If he looks to be coming from that area- he bears more watching than someone on your beam. Not saying you shouldn't investigate a contact on your beam. Fuss (via team chat)at your side to turn off jammers if they are not engaged. Keep in mind that friendly ground pounders will often NEED to have their jammers on when on station. If this is the case- the friendly should CYCLE his jammers off & on. If one of your own gets shot down because he's too STUPID to turn off his jammers when heading home- that would be HIS fault. When within a certain range- you will experience "burn through" where your IFF symbology will appear on a jamming target. Unfortunately- this happens at fairly close quarters. A lot of this is solved when on all parties are on comms. |

Hmm, yeah, when I have AWACS it's all good except I get owned pretty badly, but that's to be expected I guess. I guess my main problem is beeing so new and having to rely completely on my radar (no labels) for the first time, and not knowing the running missions well enough.
I think I'll practice more at Atg missions without labels and try joining some coop games instead. Jsut too bad they seem to be so few and far between. |

Don't forget to study the MAP and read the briefing before flight.
Down load the "theatre maps" from my site. It will help make sense of the area. There are also fairly detailed airport layouts. When on TS- you'd hear something like "Bandit hiding in the hills NW of Sochi" or "On final-Maykop 21" (or whatever it is- don't have it with me) That way if you are at Maykop and about to taxi onto the runway- you know to hold short and yield to the incoming traffic. You should hold short and look carefully both ways anyhow.. Learning all this on ACE settings is a BEEEOTCH at first ain't it? |

Yep, it's pretty damn hard, especially with all the pro tactics employed, like IR seeker and IR missiles in the russian planes. Silent death.. They lock me with their radar for 1-3 seconds (to check my distance, alt, hdg and speed I guess,) then dodge or jam my radarlock until they are close enough to angage me with their IR thingies.
I was in a low and slow cannonfight one game, Su-33 vs Su-27 (I think,) and actually kept myself alive for about 5 minutes (it ended with me going into the ground when scanning for him for a split-second.) A few times I had a clear shot at the bandit but wasn't sure if he was an enemy either of the times. But it was pretty fun I'll check your site, I need all the help I can get. I just want the online experience to be more real (when players use the taxiway to take off it kind of ruins it,) so yeah, I'll be joining you guys as soon as I get some more training at atg without labels. |

A2G is easy without tags, you just have to pay attention to the brief, or search the area where you know where the threat is :P you can also use the Mavericks TV head to scan the ground and stuff :P
