Hi there! I'm a bit new to this game and started with the A-10 campaign . While on a mission my wingman announces " mud spike at ..o'clock; request permission to engage" . Can anyone explain the meaning of the message and how to confirm engagement?
Thanks in advance

Mud spike- ground based radar threat detected,

# o clock - relative to your nose, as in the numbers on a clock

Permission to engage- you use the wingman commands to tell him it's OK for him to attack the target, or to stay in formation.

i've found more often than not he will get himself killed if you tell him to engage.

Thanks guys, i thought it might be a threat different from "bandits" or standard ground items. And ussually kept my wing mates on more covering missions and doing the tricky manouvers by myself. Good hunting!

hmm... Don't know. Seems it would most likely be a naval pilot/ platform making that type of contact, as opposed to a USAF... I can do a quick check..

Awesome konkussion, so "skunk spike" as opposed to "mud spike". Thanks for checking!
