ironhand has a great video called "clipped eagles" i think about just the kind of fight you are talking about. long range, both have fired a missle at the other. he even takes them on 2v1. great stuff, good lessons learned in that one.

You should also learn gerneral flying formations and stuff. Since in the game your usually paired up with one other wingman, your best formation is a "leuce-deuce" formation. Basically, the leuce-deuce formation is two planes flying almost parrallel, but one in front of the other, and one up high with 1-3 miles separation with the other craft. The leuce-duece is made to induce that 2 vs. 1 tactic. The first Aircraft that gets a radar contact or identification of an enemy aircraft takes the role of Flight Lead. If there is only one enemy aircraft, both you and your wingman attack him, if there is two aircraft in the enemy flight, have the flight lead attack the aircraft first identified, and the other wingman will also attack the lead's target, But the wingman is only there to pressure the target, the wingman will at anytime he feels is right, break off the attack and engage the other enemy aircraft. Communication is critical in this! So communicate with your wingman when possible! It is a proven Navy tactic, and it is taught exclusively at Top Gun. Im not sure if I explained it right, so if your intrested in learning more about this tactic, do a little research.

I first wanna be able to evade missiles myself before I start working on squad strats .

I tried 2 moves today but they only had about a 30% success rate. The first one I tried was, when the missile is coming for you, once it's about 2km away, pull hard back and right at the same time. That seemed to work really well in the beginning but for some reason as I tried it more it started to work less .

The second maneuver I tried was the barrel roll I think since I haven't seen any videos of it yet. I haven't been able to download any of those videos on flankertraining.com because they're just way too big for my little 96k capped connection to handle. I hardly had any success with the barrel roll because you have to be so damn precise with the timing and angle that it's almost pointless.

So PLEASE PLEASE could someone upload a short video or videos onto youtube to show me some missile evasion maneuvers! That would make my day

Here's a couple. I haven't tried any myself, but they look OK.

1. The guy is fighting AI F-14s. He shows how to dodge and engage. He shows at least two different missiles being evaded, and he shows you different angles. The path of the missile and his jet are marked with a program, so you can really se what's going on.

I think formations and teamwork is something more important, cuz if you and your wingman can prevent him from taking a shot (shooting at him first) then you dont have to evade missiles. But evading missiles is a good skill to have too.

Thanks for the 2 vids! Those maneuvers against phoenix missiles in the second vid are what I usually do to try and evade missiles. But I still need to perfect it! Anything other than a missile coming head on, I can't evade, and a lot of the time when I evade the first missile the bandit goes low and fires one upwards and then it's all over for me

If anyone else wants to help me out please post your videos up on youtube . BTW does anyone have any A2A demos that were recorded in LOMAC 1.02?

Did you try Teka Teka's site as Ironhand suggested on pg 1 of this thread? If you can watch youtube you should be good.
