Hi can only hostile aircraft jamming,if not how to know hostile/frendly and if I scan in a range of 10km and lock a jamming aircraft does it mean the aircraft is max 10km from me??????
there is no way to know if the jamming signal is from friendly or enemy aircraft. therefore you have to wait till you burn through the jamming signal before positive ID can be made and weapons deployed if enemy.
therefore its good thing to know if you have friendlys ahead of you. if not it must be enemy.
also you cannot know the distance to the jammer (the main purpose of it!) so either burn through or gamble a missile. The Jamming signal will appear no matter what distance you set your radar scope to and therefore you cannot estimate the distance either.

Just one more reason for anyone flying online to be on the comms channel (TS or Ventrilo). Everyone needs periodic reminders to shut off jammers when not needed. The guys who turn on jammers as part of their takeoff, leave them on, and then also refuse to get on comms don't get much sympathy when they get TK'ed frequently.

It's MUCH more useful online. Online- you are up against REAL people- not altruistic artificial scripted... computer planes that know where you are and know what you're doing no matter what. Used correctly- they help you out. Used incorrectly- they can make you vulnerable. If you're not flying online- you aren't feeling HALF the lock on experience.

I love it when people leave there jammers on, they have no idea my missile is about to kill them. I always tell my team to turn jammers off, if they don't see the chat...then watch out. Some people think turning their jammers on is part of the start-up procedures....it's not. Use them only when you need to, that's my saying.
