Does Gold edition come with a dynamic campaign? I can't stand scripted campaigns in flight sims. I've played the new Falcon game and it's great but it is massively let down by the explosions! They're bloody awful!

Shame, that would be the one thing that'd stop me buying it. I just can't be doing without a dynamic campaign in a flight sim. It'd be good if they released an expansion with dynamic campaign like they did with Forgotten Battles.

He prolly flies F4. Fly the hell out of the dynamic campaign for a while and you won't be able to remember one mission from the next. The campaign is dynamic but it's not very good. JF18 has a better semi-dynamic campaign engine, it's head and shoulders above anything else out there.

It means that events carry over from one mission to the next- if a SAM installation is destroyed- it saves that info. It doesn't magically reappear.

That and if you fail a mission, your compaign still will go on. For instance your mission was to do a CAS, but you don't do to well, your campaign will go on, but the troops you tried to protect are either dead, or had to retreat.

Goals are possible. Dynamic adaptation is not. The AI vehicles, aircraft, and all that will continue as they were set up to do- whether or not a hopeless situation exists.

Say you are to take out a SAM, and you fail- You're dead or at least without a plane. The main strike package (bombers)coming in behind you in a dynamic campaign would not continue- as conditions are UNSAT for the attack. IN LOMAC- the strike package would continue on likely be shredded by the SAM site.

Taking out a bridge will stop a convoy- but the convoy won't travel AT ALL to another crossing regardless of how close it is.

Exactly, but failing the mission doesn't always mean dying, like in Flacon 4.0, I didn't know what my 'bullseye' coodinates were and I wasent able to find my intended target. It took me too long to find the target so I ended up failing the mission.

The avionics aspect of it is FAR more realistic than lock on. LOCK on Avionics are... pffft. pretty bad. Even F-4 avionics are simplified.

F-4 has pretty hi fi modeling of the systems of a single plane, but the looks & feel are pretty awful. Lomac has the looks, and the advanced flight model provides exceptionally complex modeling of real flight physics- it's amazing.

Other than that.... the immersion, the real interaction between you and LOMAC's systems' modeling are fair to pretty good- at best. Varies with the plane.

I agree, LOMAC feels more realistic with its better flight models but Falcon 4.0 has much better Avionics and weapons deployment realism.
