I just reinstalled FC from a disc that I got with the Gold LOMAC and then installed FC patch 1.12b that I had downloaded some time in the past. Is there a FC patch version 1.12a that should have been installed first?? Also the game seems a big jumpy especially when a missle is fired or a plane hit. I am using a 256 G Force card.

if you install 1.12b you do not have to install 1.12a at all.

If you are having problems with stuttering or "jumpiness" try installing Cacheman and possibly you can tame that some.

Check the box that allows Cacheman to control your system cache.

You can do a Google search for cache and find good and easy to understand explanations as to what cache does and how it works in conjunction with RAM and virtual memory.

1.12a and 1.12b are actually the same patch from the viewpoint of FC.
The difference is that 1.12b contains Vista related drivers for those who have Vista.
If you use the 1.12b patch on XP, those Vista related parts are simply ignored.
Because 1.12b is good for either Vista or XP folks, then thats the reason why most Community websites only bother to host the b version since it is "all things to all men".
